The mood here in Australia is they want Alex Hawke to 'Kick Out' Novak especially people in Melbourne
We should know later today if Alex Hawke will re-cancel his visa.

No he is not. He won 7 slams (3 in one year) and gives good insights in the game.
Hi Dennis....you have not been here for ages.Sorry we will have to disagree on Mats.....I never liked him as a player, have less time for him as a tennis commentator.

As a player I loved Mats, but as a commentator, if an ice cream van parked up on the corner selling his favourite vanilla ice cream, Mats would call the driver the greatest player of all time. Mats is too caught up in the need to be relevant. Maybe commentators are pressured into trivialising the sport, for clicks, but I get the feeling Mats volunteered for that…

I understand that this would mean that he cannot enter the country for three years. It would be an act of political opportunism and bad faith that I am sure could only be matched by Donald Trump if he were still in office. Djokovic checked the rules with the Australians and complied with them before coming.

Don't think it will happen.

There are commentators way worse than Wilander on that point. McEnroe, Becker. They are tv-pundits for a reason. Doesn't mean they don't provide insight.

It really depends on the reason of re-cancelling the visa,I doubt that Novak would be banned for 3 years ,from what I am hearing from officials here.Personally speaking I really dont think he should be banned for 3 years. Also people here want him to have 'restrictions' as we all have to be double vaccinated and he is not.I understand this could 'inflame' the situation...lets see what happens.

They’re pundits because they provide viewers. I’m not saying they don’t know the game, by the way, But that they get caught up in drama. Roy Keane was a great footballer, but you wouldn’t listen to him as a pundit if you wanted to know about football tactics and strategies. He’s just sings the same song about every player. “Where’s the fight? Where’s the hunger? When I was a player….”

But he draws in viewers, so that’s why he’s there…

We don’t know yet that the bad faith is on the side of the Australians. Remember, Novak has entered the country with a lot of unanswered questions. If he’s not legally entitled to be there, it isn’t bad faith to treat him the way they treat everyone else who’s in that position.

If he is entitled to be there, then he has nothing to worry about…

Yeah, in any event, a bad situation for everyone involved. I hope Djokovic himself does social distancing to the max to avoid getting omicron.

Denis,
If he is deemed to have 'lied' on his declaration papers, that would be enough evidence for him to be banned for 3 years.

I think we could all pick it up in one way or another it is spreading like wild fire, though it is very mild, like a flu,so you can get over it well.I think it has nearly peaked here in Australia, certainly where I live,so we should see the down turn in a couple of weeks, hopefully.

It just keeps looking worse and worse. Lying about traveling before heading to Australia, a fake or at least altered test. I don’t see how he can stay there if these can be proven — and it would appear they are being proven right now. I wouldn’t be surprised if officials in Australia are purposefully leaking this information so that when they do go after Novak again, they will seem justified.

Don't forget that PCR tests are easy to manipulate - just up the cycles and you'll get a false positive.

Meaning, one of Novak's people could have easily asked a doctor for a positive result, and kept Novak out of it.

Pure speculation, of course.
What do you mean "up the cycles?" Are you saying you can force a positive?
