We go circles with this frequently asked question, only he could answer it

but much more important for this case is , this fact makes a fake test unlikely
Which fact? By the way, I don’t think he faked his result, I don’t think he faked papers relating to his test. I think he tested positive. If I have a question relating to it, I’d whether the test result is valid from a travel perspective, as per most countries not accepting a private test result, but only a state health authority result.

But far as I know, he hasn’t had to show his test result to anyone yet for test on its legality. They didn’t get that far on Monday…

Or gave it to, we don’t know.

But if this timeline is right, then Novak tested on the 16th, but his positive result would be later. In the meantime, he should isolate, right?

So why didn’t he isolate?

I do not know when No1e was informed about the test result or when he found out. I'm sorry, I can't give a specific answer because I don't have one.

Until he gets a result, he should isolate. That’s standard everywhere. The question remains as to why he didn’t. And not just on one occasion. He seems to have totally disregarded the test, and the result, in his movements on the days that followed.

But as Numbers rightly said, only he can tell us why. Hopefully he’ll get the chance to..

I agree that this is how it should be, to isolate yourself until you get the test result, but that is little respected, in the USA, Australia, Croatia... And in Serbia too. I believe that journalists will ask him about this.

Rothenberg somehow came to his tests. How - I don't know. And he published them.

If he contracted it on the 15th Dec., he wouldn't likely have tested positive on the 16th. You can look it up on the Euro Basketball League website:

December 16, 2021: FC Barcelona announced on Thursday that Nigel Hayes-Davis has tested positive for COVID-19.

So it wasn't announced until the evening of the 16th that that was a contact, and Novak tested earlier in the day. If he contracted it the day before, he would have quarantined, and tested in a couple of days. That can't be it.

In that case, he got covid earlier and infected Nigel. Maybe you're right.

moxie was asking why he tested himself without symptoms and preffered the explanation of the fraud for it
The information bratsrbin gave us is a very good and most likely reason, “fact “ was a wrong term from me
Yeah I related my post to the allegations of many poster here that he falsified the test

sorry for thinking you are one of them

Will he answer? I doubt it. He’ll make himself look really bad struggling with the follow on questions if he answers that one.

Why did you have a negative guard? Wait, we'll see. I'm interested too.

No I don’t think he faked the test, and not only because the consequences of getting caught would be very severe, not only in terms of likely prison time, but his reputation would be utterly shredded. He’d become a pariah, a Lance Armstrong. I just don’t think he’s that stupid. I think he might have contacted covid deliberately, having run out of legitimate medical reasons to be considered exempt.

I wouldn’t be surprised if he did this, although healthwise it’s tempting fate and not to be recommended, but if he did it’s clever, though not morally sound, and even less so given his disregard for isolating once he’d caught it.

As I say, I’d have more admiration for him if he’d stood on his principles and withdrew. Even if he’s allowed to play, he’s lied so much now that his reputation will suffer…

I never dreamed this could happen:

Kyrgios ‘embarrassed’ to be an Australian athlete after Djokovic visa debacle

Nick Kyrgios is an athlete?

What’s “a negative guard?”

Don't forget that PCR tests are easy to manipulate - just up the cycles and you'll get a false positive.

Meaning, one of Novak's people could have easily asked a doctor for a positive result, and kept Novak out of it.

Pure speculation, of course.

If they don’t cancel Djokovic’s visa, if I was Alex Hawke, I would troll Djokovic so hard by showing up with a couple ABP and watch his match near his opponent’s player’s box.

In that way, No1e will surely become a champion. He needs something to make him angry and mad.
“I would not be in the shoes of those who anger him. The worst is when he gets angry. We know what it looks like. If they let him play a tournament after this, I don’t think he would be equal. Everyone knows that now“, Wilander.

It's true of course in normal conditions, but the last few days have really not been anything close to what happened in the past.

Also, given that he is not vaccinated he is at a higher risk of getting tested positive and getting kicked out of the tournament. I wrote in another thread that the WHO expects half of Europe in the next 6-8 weeks to get omicron. I doubt Australia will fare that much better.

I am really not that optimistic.

But we can currently still dream he straightsets Rafa in the final again.
