He still has around a week and a half to recover and do some rehab but imagine he plays all strapped up again and it starts to get sore. Dense is the only word that comes to mind to me. Imo he has practically nothing to defend at Madrid so maybe play 2-3 matches tops and tank if he really feels he has to play there, although tanking sucks. Personally I'd only play Rome before RG if I were him and agree 100% Kieran, Madrid's surface is nothing like real clay so it's not even clay prep. Just an excuse to overplay and do some unnecessary damage.

If he ends up jeopardizing his chances at RG he should (A) concentrate more on his meditation by becoming a fulltime Buddhist monk and (B) shoot the doctor who advised him to play in Madrid.

According to l'Equipe, Nole will be dad at the end of the year. Congrats to him and Jelena. A good news at least

If the wrist is okay, this news means Nadal will go down in the final at RG.

Why would Rafa be lucky? I'd be very surprised if he doesn't make the final.

I'm only kidding with ya! If Nole's wrist is fine, I'll be more than happy for Rafa to face him in the final, again... :)

Hmm, that sounded a bit too confident to be confident. I'm pretty sure you'd rather see your boy face good old Roger in the finals.

Obviously! Wouldn't it be nice, but I don't really mind who it is. Rafa has a perfect record in Paris against them both...

Nole is pain-free for 10 days according to tennis.com. Says he's practicing hard.

I am glad he opens against Radek. The points will be shorter, not as many long rallies, as against baseliners.

This means his announcement that he had another "flare up" in the wrist before the
Rome tournament is obviously a lie ( I don't blame him, he needed to give an excuse so
that ATP does not go after him for missing a mandatory event). He just decided that
it is better not to play in Madrid and protect the wrist instead of risking and I think
it is a wise decision.

Hope we have a 100% Novak in both Rome and RG.

Moxie never said Nole had a flare up. Stop trying to misrepresent her posts. It's an obvious deliberate attempt.

I hope the wrist does get well and holds up! We are already down in the player's department with Juan's wrist surgery.

Actually, I think GSM was referring to Nole having said that he had a "flare up." He wasn't calling me a liar, rather Novak, though genially, I assume. Novak may well have said that to satisfy the tournament, when wiser heads prevailed about playing. Or he could have had one, and still can have been 10 days pain free. That we can't know.

And now Kei's back/glutes/hip (which he referred to after the Nadal match.) Here's a side-bar injury question, where I don't want to start a thread, but: Kei's got some 14-16 days to rest and recover before his first match at RG. When a player's form is that sharp before injury, and given that he'll go in with a good ranking and (barring bad luck) should have a reasonably soft match or two to get into form, how much does he have to practice before RG, compared to resting and recovering. I guess what I'm saying is his niggles seem like over-use and just require rest. Can he afford to rest a lot, and not practice too much, and hope to play himself into the tournament?

BS is fully aware of that. He just posted it to teach us an (unwarranted) lesson on how
posters feed up on other people's messages by analogy. He seems to think the rest of the folks cannot differentiate between what is normal feeding up on other people's messages and
intentional misrepresentation to the eyes of a casual reader of these forums.

Actually, I think he misinterpreted. And I don't see any analogy either in my post or yours. They were informational. Sometimes people just misread.
