Nole is pain-free for 10 days according to tennis.com. Says he's practicing hard.

This means his announcement that he had another "flare up" in the wrist before the
Rome tournament is obviously a lie ( I don't blame him, he needed to give an excuse so
that ATP does not go after him for missing a mandatory event). He just decided that
it is better not to play in Madrid and protect the wrist instead of risking and I think
it is a wise decision.

Hope we have a 100% Novak in both Rome and RG.

Moxie never said Nole had a flare up. Stop trying to misrepresent her posts. It's an obvious deliberate attempt.

Actually, I think GSM was referring to Nole having said that he had a "flare up." He wasn't calling me a liar, rather Novak, though genially, I assume. Novak may well have said that to satisfy the tournament, when wiser heads prevailed about playing. Or he could have had one, and still can have been 10 days pain free. That we can't know.

That post went over your head. I was playing off something that happened in a different thread where GSM ridiculously suggested that I'm quoting his posts while talking about things he didn't necessarily say to make him look bad and "misrepresent his posts." Yeah, it's just as stupid as it sounds.

BS is fully aware of that. He just posted it to teach us an (unwarranted) lesson on how
posters feed up on other people's messages by analogy. He seems to think the rest of the folks cannot differentiate between what is normal feeding up on other people's messages and
intentional misrepresentation to the eyes of a casual reader of these forums.

Actually, I think he misinterpreted. And I don't see any analogy either in my post or yours. They were informational. Sometimes people just misread.

No I have not. You think I'm that slow?

OK, here's the short version:

I quoted a GSM post where he said that Fognini lost in Rome and said something along the lines of "that's what I meant when I said Fabio has a ceiling." No harm done, right? Wrong. GSM asked me to stop quoting his posts while talking about something else (seemingly ignoring how related my comment was to his) as he seemed to think I was trying to make it as though he suggested that Fabio is a FO contender, when it was in fact Heiros.

Apparently, it was the "4th time" I do this (yes, GSM is so pathetically paranoid about an inner Tennis Frontier conspiracy to make him look bad that he counted). Yes, I am guilty of quoting a post discussing Fabio's loss to talk about...Fabio's losses. Horrible. Shameful. I should be banned.

So my earlier post in this thread was me playing off that, which is what both GSM and I tried to explain to you. You're going to have to take our word for it.

^ I saw that one. Yes, stupid, and unnecessarily punitive, on both threads and counts. What say we give it a rest?

big deal.... does an injury update (supposedly) need to get so political? ;)

It has nothing to do with the injury update. I just randomly quoted that post to highlight a point.

I first put this in the Djokovic Wimbledon #1 seed thread, but it probably belongs here.

Djokovic has withdrawn from Boodles with wrist bothering him again. Not sure how will affect his Wimbledon effort.

Boris Becker is on top of the situation.

I imagine that Nole and Jelena's marriage and honeymoon very soon should fix that wrist.
He'll be able to rest that hand. ;)

I dunno about resting the hand being married. I reckon he'll be using it more after the honeymoon is over :D Remember she's preggers after all.

The wrist again. I thought that had settled after he skipped Madrid. I hope it's okay for Wimbledon. Wimbledon isn't as gruelling as the French, but sometimes the speed on the ball and reaction needed can be harmful to the wrist...

Thanks Masterclass.

It seems like it's just a precaution and they have hopes he'll be fine, but it isn't good news...

Actually on that picture where he played chess with Becker the day before the French Open final he had some kind of protection on the left wrist, too. So it seems like the problem was never fully away but mostly managable.

Here's a quote someone translated from a Serbian source:

"In Monte Carlo I played under strange circumstances, and it hurt a lot. Than I skipped Madrid, which proved to be a great decision since I didn't feel any pain in Rome and Roland Garros.

At present time I also don't feel any pain. However after I changed surfaces and went from clay to grass, during the first few training sessions here at Wimbledon, I had a strange feeling in my wrist. Everything is all right now and I hope that it will stay that way."

So it seems true that he withdrew from the exhibition match because of the wrist, but is optimistic it won't be a problem for Wimbledon.

My own guess is he simply wanted time off to spend with his family, after all he had a stag weekend not long ago at all and probably need to rest after being hungover no doubt:D He rarely ever does any grass prep prior to Wimbledon so he likely just used the wrist injury as an excuse 'cos there was no sign of it aggravating him at RG. But who knows, maybe it was the transition to grass as he said too.

Remember that Novak thought his problems in Monte Carlo came from practising too hard after changing from hard court to clay. So probably this time he was extra cautious when something didn't feel alright after changing surfaces again.
