And Novak breaks back.

For a dead rubber, this has been a long fight. Nearly 3 hours.
Definitely about match-ups, huh? Medvedev bothers him, and he doesn't seem to want to concede any ground, even though this match doesn't matter.

Yeah, that reminded me of Roddick’s infamous attempt at that shot in the 09 Wimbledon final.
Don't remind us tennis officianado's. That was absolutely painful to watch from a technical perspective.

Djokovic really going all out for this match. Interesting thought process given he already qualified. Granted he does own Fritz, but who knows Fritz may find a way.

He wants to go 5-0 and claim those extra points and that 4.7 mil paychex. Fritzy likely has no chance.

I rest my case. If this guy cannot win against a struggling Djoke, he will not win another big title until he gets his head straightened out. He continues to play the wrong shot at net as if he learned nothing from the previous matches. :slap:
He lost a good chunk of the mental edge he had coming into AO22.

His net game is terrible. Soft hands are underrated in tennis, but Daniil doesn't have it at all. Just shoveling the balls. He needs to practice "small tennis" played inside the service courts only. He might find he is losing plenty of points there due to poor choices.

Medvedev is one of his chief rivals of this generation… doubtful he wants to relinquish even this match to CombOver. Fritz’s chances just went up a few notches,

Don,

He needs a bloody transition game for starters....apart from what you mentioned.

Rule is you just use the sevice court on both sides and you try to outsmart the opponent by creating angles and putting ball in empty space, but all has to be done in that area, there is no movement to the baseline. You also don't use force so the ball stays in play a lot, you become better at using soft hands. I see pickle ball is somewhat similar they use very small rackets.
