This is a must win match for Fed. Assuming Novak wins all his RR matches and Matteo loses all his RR matches, Novak will qualify and Matteo will be eliminated. The second place would go to whoever wins this match between Fed and Thiem.

Or to put it other way, if Fed loses today he might have to win his match against Novak just to advance.

#2 - Top players show no mercy in WTF as they know that efficiency of winning may play a factor in case of ties
for moving ahead to next stage.

No I didn’t. He should handle him indoors and fast!
Roger is currently a UFE machine. Couldn’t capitalise on 45% first serve of the German in first half of the set. That’s simply bad.

The problem with Thiem is certainly that he is able to overpower the old man. This is exactly what happened in IW finals also. It was also like the way JMDP overpowered Roger in 2009 USO finals. Thiem goes big on both wings.

Hope Maestero shows up for the next two sets and takes time away from Thiem.

IDK what people have been looking at when it comes to these 2! It's as if they're in complete denial; sorta like when Nadal owned him early on! These matches are always up to how Dominic is playing, not Roger! Fed has to depend on Thiem making errors and he will get them, but not enough from what I can tell with this match! Dom is totally dominating play! :whistle:
