Good for her if she is! Rafa wanting to wait til he’s retired? That might be too late for Xisca. Lovely woman, very happy for the pair of them…

It is recommended that woman start having their children before age 30 ,if possible, from a medical point of view
Mery probably thought 'it is time"

Not to noodle too much in peoples' affairs, but he has been saying for years that he wants to be home to raise his children. He has also said that he expected to be retired by now. I was making a joke to say that Mery wasn't waiting any longer. I suspect they both realize they can't wait for him to retire, if he carries on like this. Enhorabuena, if it is, in fact, true.

Thanks, whoever filmed Rafa on grass needs to be congratulated :) he has apparently been practicing behind closed doors
First video I have seen, since he started practicing on grass.

The video is amazing. He seems ready. :ok-hand:

Tomorrow's Rafa's practice will be open to media ( probably fans too).Right after it, he'll talk to all the media.

Baby update:
According to Spanish press Mery, Rafa's wife is 5 months pregnant and is expecting a boy.We gonna see no?

I don’t know why but I think that Rafa will retire this year, after the baby is born. He looks like a man on a mission and I can’t see him travelling down under in January. Maybe he’ll tailor his appearances, but if he wins another slam this year I think he’ll retire, for the good of his health - and to spend time with family…

You would not blame him if he did retire this year, agree for the good of his health and to spend some quality time with his wife Mery and their baby.

It will be interesting to see. Leaving the sport is a very difficult decision for competitors at his level (Big 3, living legends, etc). He may not be ready to let go just yet. Unlike some of the women, I don't see him wanting to come back after officially retiring.

No, he wouldn’t do that. I don’t imagine so. His health is a priority, but also, the baby and Xisca number one. But we’ll see. I definitely think of her wins another slam this year, he’ll be gone for good. If not, he’ll be in Paris next year. Total speculation on my part!
