I'm not sure if Ferrer is getting a slagging here he doesn't deserve, but Murray is the King of the understated celebration.

Nah, Ferrer is one of my favorites but I always get a kick out of his victory celebrations no matter where he wins one. That is one of the reasons I want to see him win a Slam someday. Can you imagine the way he will express his joy? I cannot. ;)

Andy Murray says he will practise again this afternoon and then decide whether his legs are up to competing (for 3rd week running) in Rome

Great win for Murray, well deserved win, he's the best on clay for the moment. Hope he 'll have a good RG (why not a win ??)

Just saw that he pulled out of Rome.

Color me shocked! I'm sure he would have preferred just skipping it altogether, but he's only at 500+ wins! :p :nono

No, citing fatigue is always a possibility for a good reason, they will not get penalized.
Remember, JMDP did that right before he won the USO in 2009.
he skipped Cincy citing fatigue, after being 2 weeks in a row in finals at Washington and Montreal.
Andy could have done that too, without entering. He entered though and now is withdrawing.
He could have skipped it from the beginning leaving the spot for someone who was committed to play.

I think he was wise to withdraw. Gives himself plenty of time to rest - and actually visit sites in Roma  - and then prepare for Paris. He's had a successful run so far on clay...

The draw is out!

Muzza's potential opponents:

R1 Qual
R2 Pospisil/Sousa
R3 Kyrgios
R4 Isner
QF Ferrer
SF Nole/Rafa

Certainly not an easy draw. Was hoping for another Djokovic-Murray final. How about a Murray-Nishikori final?

Muzza will get killed by Kyrgios and if he manages to survive that, he will go a long way until he gets killed by the winner of Rafa/Novak.

I really can't see Andy getting through that gauntlet of top players, no matter how well he's playing! He falls back into a defensive mode so quickly and best of 5 is going to do him in long before he gets to the semi IMO! I could be totally mistaken, but that's what I feel at this time! He peaked too early winning Munich and Madrid like that; can't last! That's why they call them upsets! :snicker :laydownlaughing

I think Murray will get past Kyrgios without too much trouble similar to AO. I think a Murray-Ferrer QF would be interesting...as interesting as a match with Ferrer can be.

Good solid win by Murray over Kyrgios. I'll admit I was a bit worried but Murray played well on the important points. He constructed the points well, while Kyrgios had to go all-or-nothing and too often it was nothing. On to the 4th round against Chardy!
