6-4 in 2nd set da DominatorMy young Aussie Alex was up a break in the first set,Dominic came back and it went to a t/break for the 1st set 76(7) which went in favor of the Austrian
Surprised to see Bublik with a straight sets win over Karatsev 64 63
Alex is playing well against Dominic.though down a break now in the 2nd set.,well done to Alex who breaks back,on serve in the 2nd set 3 all.
I am off to work and will check the scores while working.
I'm not Bublik is the real deal. Akdo .that guy gives fantastic interviews. He has a lot of charisma..Keep your eye on this guyThiem wins again.
Medvedev fighting, no factor on clay.
I am surprised Bublik beats Karatsev.... in straights
I'm in shock! Isner's channeling Edberg from '89, serving and volleying his way past clay court specialists! The thing is, it's his ground game which has kept him in these matches; esp. against RBA yesterday! Isner had a few points that must have him "in the zone" to get away with! Very impressive, but not sure he can handle the pace and heaviness of Thiem's groundstokes on this kind of court! What the heck is going on, I know he played 5sets against Rafa in Paris a decade ago, but really???? Beating Bautista AND winning the first against Rublev wtf? Big John is a miracle to me
I heard it explained a few years back. Something about the clay giving him time...he's got a big body to move around. And a great serve works for you on all surfaces. They just said this is the 10th career match he's won without ever breaking serve. John beat Roger on clay some years back...in Switzerland! What the heck is going on, I know he played 5sets against Rafa in Paris a decade ago, but really???? Isner can cause a very big disturbance in the ForceI heard it explained a few years back. Something about the clay giving him time...he's got a big body to move around. Nothing personal against Isner, but watching a match of his is equivalent to me of nails on a chalkboard. Or watching a documentary on soil erosion. Or having a tooth extracted without anesthesia.I'm in shock! Isner's channeling Edberg from '89, serving and volleying his way past clay court specialists! The old men of the tour refuse to leave quietly! I never thought we'd have another era where the best players tend to be older! Back in the day it was all about Borg while players like Laver, Rosewall, Nastase, Ashe, Newcombe, Smith, & others were aging out, but still in the top 10!Isner can cause a very big disturbance in the Force
Nyah! I can't watch his matches for very long either! It takes me back to the 70's when it was all about the serve! Many matches went to TB's because of an inability to break! I actually watched a match between Alexander and Tanner here in Chicago back in '75 that was quite typical in results; 7-6, 6-7, 7-6! Isner's groundies are better so he can stay in rallies a little bit better, but his game continues to center around the serve!Nothing personal against Isner, but watching a match of his is equivalent to me of nails on a chalkboard. Maybe it is personal....
He's crap to watch except for the occasional good serve and volley or FH but I'd personally be happy to not see Thiem throw his hands up in the air and berate his box non stop so go Isner. I feel sick wanting Isner to win a match but there you go.Nothing personal against Isner, but watching a match of his is equivalent to me of nails on a chalkboard. Yeah agree, but if he also beats Thiem... then I will really lose my religion! God bewareI'm in shock! Isner's channeling Edberg from '89, serving and volleying his way past clay court specialists! Bublik hits some cracking forehands and didn't watch it (will check highlights later) but all it takes is a single break per set with one guy serving badly or the other returning well. Quite like Bublik's game too but hoping for good things from Karatsev the rest of the year.Thiem wins again.

He was just looking forward to his post match McDonaldsMedvedev's needs to address his foot work on clay for starters, his transition to the net needs attention too, even on a HC.,I understand he has not practiced on clay that much,he has openly said he does not like clay, his main goals for clay this year was to go past RD 1 at RG.
OMG I did not see that comingAnd ........ gone is Stefanos Tsitsipas.
