First. I want to preface this by saying when I say "Nuff Said". It's not something that is intended to be mean or rude. It's from the old Marvel comics book days of Stan Lee's and Jack Kirby comics.(Fiero knows what I am saying).
Margaret, he should have won AO19. Thiem have made 4 grand slams Finals and won 1.. please tell me another player besides Stan and Murray who has a better resume during the era of the big 3. You don't have to fancy the man but his Numbers say that he is an extremely talented player who has some fantástic tennis results.
Don't forget "no pun intended", also by Stan the Man. (Though I'm in the Kirby camp , ie Jack was woefully undercredited for all those Marvel creations.)

Totally agree with you on Theim, he's made 3 Majors on HC and 2 on red clay. I do think he could win another couple in the next three years. The irony is while everyone thinks red clay is Theim's best surface, he's won a Major, a Masters and an ATP YE champ all on HC.

He took Rafa to five sets one year at RG I nearly had to go and jump off the Eiffel Tower lol!I
I had tickets to that 1st rd match in 2011 with my cousins,I had just got off a plane from Sydney earlier,so I was brain dead and it did not help my cause when Isner was leading I can assure you.

Medvedev

"To beat me on clay isn't a giant headline".

With that I am off to the gym to do some weights.

Like I thought about Nadal because of his hugging the baseline, I can't see Medvedev lasting long on the tour! Those dropshots he had to run for all day have to be debilitating eventually! It was why he had nothing left in that USO Final against Nadal; "playing too far behing the baseline!" He's so vulnerable to those short balls! He has a great game and moves beautifully, but the workout he had to go to get past this latest HOTTIE from Spain has to be draining! Never heard of A. Davidoch Fokina B4 that I can recall anyway! Will Med even make it to the final getting extended like that? :)

Since you were so right about Nadal not lasting long on tour, you're probably going to be right about Medvedev. :face-with-tears-of-joy: Or, maybe they know more than you do about their own games.

I saw the replay of Nadal d. Alcaraz. The scoreline was brutal, but the birthday boy (his 18th) acquitted himself OK. Hits big, has improve skills, not afraid to move in, and he did break Rafa in the 2nd. Watching the replay of Medvedev v. ADF now. I watched just enough of the Paire match to see him care for maybe 1/2 a set.

Think about how great and accomplished Rafa was at that age. Rafa ambushed Roger on the hard courts at Miami..That's was when.the legend of Nadal was beginning

It's hard not to think of it. Even the commies on TC said it was unfair to make the comparisons. Rafa says that Alcaraz is the best future of Spanish tennis. I'm sure that Alejandro Davidovich Fokina is not happy with that, but we shall see. Yes, Rafa beat Roger in Miami at 17. It's hard not to think of the birthday thing: Today, on his 18th birthday, Alcaraz lost on a big stage to Rafa. But he played well. Rafa, on his 19th birthday, beat Roger Federer in the SFs at RG, and went on to win the title, 2 days later. He's still our last great teenager, on the men's side. It's good to see so many promising ones coming up. But the old guard is not giving ground just yet.

What do we think of Popyrin who is playing Rafa tomorrow?

Apparently my young Aussie Alexi is going to channel his 'Inner Soderling' against Rafa tomorrow.

Medvedev's needs to address his foot work on clay for starters, his transition to the net needs attention too, even on a HC.,I understand he has not practiced on clay that much,he has openly said he does not like clay, his main goals for clay this year was to go past RD 1 at RG.
