Glad to see Daniil has won. How did he look on clay?
Karatsev seems to be a slow starter, to beat Diego is a good sign. His game and huge calves are made for the dirt.
Zverev fighting with the fragile Samurai, he is no factor so far on clay.

It is the way Theim says things quite frankly,I have heard him live and I am not the only one who thinks he is arrogant.Of course Rafa does not give you anything at RG,you have to earn it period.
Lets face it Dominic only won USO because Sasha who had MPs is a choker and a head case.,should have beaten him in straight sets
So true regarding the bolded part. He shouldn't have won that slam if not for Zverev's choking. which he does A LOT.

No I disagree..He knows if he stays healthy he is the hier apparent Thiem has been very smart about his career and he should capture more slams than Murray and Stan..
Maybe he will win more than the Sir and the Man, but after Djoker and Rafa have declined enough. The other two get their titles while all of the 3 were still pretty good! Big difference if you ask me.
Dominic by himself admitted , a slam title with beating one of the 2 in the F counts more. He won his only slam title because of two circumstances, Djoker disqualified and Sasha choking huge.

Nice. Didn't realize he'd beaten him already. 2-0 h2h now against him. Really curious to see how Karatsev fares at RG.

While records are made to be broken, there may well never be another Rafa Nadal on clay, so there is that. Mostly every one is just wondering who the decent competition is. Current hot hand is Tsitsipas. And maybe Thiem is he comes back to form. I know Front has a lot of hope for Medvedev on clay, and he could come good on it, eventually.

Wondering what it was that Thiem said about Rafa at RG 2020. I tried googling but didn't come up with anything.
Karatsev is the man to watch imo. Hopefully he'll work on his fitness a bit 'cos the 7-6 (0) final set TB in Belgrade was a big letdown but then again, he had a tough match against Djokovic.

His game doesn't strike me as perfectly suited to clay, even though he reached the final in Belgrade. He says he likes a fast court.

Diego said that he was looking specifically to play the Russian with big leg calves again.. looking at the scores, they battled.

Everyone isn't the choir boys like Roger and Rafa has been to all of their FANs. McEnroe was a tennis genius whose antics made him hard to root for. Sampras was a brilliant competitor who once had to make an ESPN commercial disguised as the famous San Diego chicken mascot to show the world that he could display some sort of an outgoing personality. Safin was the ultimate crazy Russian who had almost as much natural tennis gifts as any player whom EVER held a racket while fighting his bad boy demons.

I choose players by the way they compete. Nuff Said.
I also chose players by the way they compete.I am not a fan of Dominic an d quite frankly I think he is over rated. He has been touted as the next big thing on clay? what big tournaments has he won? I rest my case and enough said.

To this day outside of Novak, the only other player to take Rafa to five sets at Roland Garos.( Rafa won RG that year.) In fact Isner led that 2011 2nd round encounter 2 sets to 1 at one point....

Tight 3rd set with RBA and Isner will probably go to a t/break
Come on RBA I would rather watch wet paint dry than watch Isner play :)

First. I want to preface this by saying when I say "Nuff Said". It's not something that is intended to be mean or rude. It's from the old Marvel comics book days of Stan Lee's and Jack Kirby comics.(Fiero knows what I am saying).
Margaret, he should have won AO19. Thiem have made 4 grand slams Finals and won 1.. please tell me another player besides Stan and Murray who has a better resume during the era of the big 3. You don't have to fancy the man but his Numbers say that he is an extremely talented player who has some fantástic tennis results.

Woulda Shouda Couda does not win matches which applies to AO 2019.I am not a fan you are that is okay.I am talking about clay? to me a player who has consistent wins, meaning tournaments is a player to watch on clay, when he wins a Masters on clay I might take notice of him.Actually I feel at present The Young Greek is a player to watch on clay, though I am not calling him the 'next big thing on clay either.

Tell you what.. even at current form. If they meet at RG. Thiem vs Tstis..Can we agree whomever wins is the better player.. DEAL?
