The more I watch Ruud play the more I like him, another player that has gone to Rafa'a academy.Thiem will need to serve better than he did against Alex,Alex had his chances against Theim, happy to see Matteo in a q/final,he is building his form nicely.
I like Ruud, too, and I'm very happy to see Berrettini back playing well again. If Thiem doesn't serve better, he could go the way of Rublev. As I said, Isner didn't once break Rublev's serve, and he won the match, anyway.

I don't worry so much about Zverev v Nadal anymore, but both need to serve well, for different reasons. Thiem will handle Isner unless he has a day like Rublev...play well enough, but get out-served in the TB. I have no feel for Bublik, but I hope Ruud wins, because I do like him. I think Berrettini will out-hit Garin.
Dominic has too much game for big John
. Against Isner, you just can't loose your serve..or loose points on your service in the tbrs

That's the best I seen young Alex play of recent times . They had some fantástic tennis.

Thx god Thiem won, but needed 3 sets  .

Now Nadal-Zverev, the match of the day. Let’s see if Sasha can win more than 5 games in 2 sets.

Isner was playing out of his mind to take that 1st set, but felt Thiem would come back! It had to come to an end w/ John! Good effort though!

Zverev is surviving well so far in the first. Close to lose his serve at 3:4.

I think it's time for Rafa to give Sacha a clay court lesson today
I thought it was time but Sacha didn't. He came to play..Rafa is making a few more errors not moving his feet like Barcelona but Sacha is outplaying him.

Serving for 1st! Typical start w/ a DF, but coming back! Nadal's way back waiting for serve! He looks like an idiot, but that's Rafa! Sascha takes it! ;-)
Let me guess , you aren’t a Nadalfan?

Never! Can't stand his act on court! Exhorting himself after a dropshot winner is just "over the top" stupid at this stage in his career! It's sad!
I know what you mean, this part of Rafa coudnt be liked. But he is a hell of a player.
Right now Zverev is playing lights out but coudnt get his break at 1:1. If he wants to win, he has to do it in straights.

First step is done, he got the break. Now keep this level and it’s possible.
Is Nadal injured? He is making too many errors.

Napo. He just not moving well...it's really no big deal. Madrid is not the goal..I think he plays it because he respects Feli who is the TD.. Conserve your energy and go to Roma(Rome)

Rafa is completely out of rhythm. Hard to understand if he isn’t injured.
