Here's a fun one: the Miami semifinals includes players from four generations born at least four years apart: Djokovic (1987), Grigor Dimitrov (1991), Taylor Fritz (1997), and Jakob Mensik (2005).
Note also that they're 4, 6, and 8 years apart. Fun numerical symmetry.

Anyhow, hoping for a Dimitrov-Mensik final but expecting Djokovic-Fritz.

Mensik has to develop his game, apart from his serve which is good, I think Fritz will win
Dimitrov is hampered by his ankle, in his last match, so I cant see him doing anything much against Novak

Dimitrov complains there is a fan with a white cap, heckling him, the fan is escorted from the stadium
Still that is no helping his game, LOL! Novak won the 1st set 62.in 30 mins
This has to be the weakest Masters 1000 tournament, though you can only play what is in front on you :)
I am certain Novak will extend his H2H over Dimitrov 13-1 after this match has ended
Novak 62 63 he has beaten Dimitrov in their last 11 meetings

It's been routine as Djokovic rolls over one of his many pigeons he's never lost to; not even a set IIRC! He's looking like the Novak of old; full of confidence & making a lot of 1st serves! Very impressive! Just beat the rain! If Nole wins tmrw., it'll be his 100th title, 73rd Big Title, 41st Masters! The symmetry to his success is amazing! He's won 12 Majors early & 12 late, 4 times winning 3 of 4 Majors; early & late, then moving the records out of reach of anyone to break! :astonished-face::fearful-face::face-with-hand-over-mouth::yawningface:

Interesting that Mensik has been winning the longer rallies in this match so far,
Mensik 1st set 76 (4)
Fritz 2nd set 64
Going 3

Going to a TB for the final set
Similar scene from the 1st set TB, Mensik with the early break
Must say Mensik's serving has been so good in Miami
Fritz with good return,
3 all
From 1-3 Fritz in the lead 4-3

You can tell the nerves are getting to Mensik. The difference between 19 and 27.

Maybe the biggest win of his career - beating #4 at age 19. I know, Taylor Fritz - but Taylor is a very good player and very steady, and a top 10 player for a few years now. Mensik is no mere serve-bot. If you imagine 2-3 years of refinement, he's going to be very good.

Novak and Mensik met at Shanghai last year. Novak beat him, but it took three sets. Mensik won the first set in a tiebreak. Seems to have a knack for it.
