Well said on Coric. Zverev is probably one of my favorites of the youngsters. Was mildly concerned by his "meltdown" against Rafa in their last match. Hopefully it was just a blip, one that he learns from.

Lol, "meltdown"? not even close as Raonic was against Novak, come on!

You realize Raonic won 2 games right? He never had match point lol. That's not a meltdown, that's just a bad day.

Not just a bad day but also horrible, any amateur player would have played better than him, Zverev at least tried to fight as most as he could

No disagreement there but Raonic was also a bit hampered towards the end of the match. In fairness there's no way he'd win only 2 games if fully healthy.

It will be interesting to see on how Delpo fares against Federer tomorrow. I expect Federer to win but it will be interesting if Delpo can give a respectable match. In addition, it will be interesting to see on how will Federer feel after that meniscus tear.

Zverev will face Johnson in the 2nd rounds. This the type of match that Zverev can capitalize and win tomorrow.

JMDP vs. Fed match can tell each one of them as to whether they are really back (not based on result, but based on their level of play).

two other teenagers lost:
Chung to Kudla and
Ymer to Delbonis.
More surprises:
Ito defeats Mahut,
Herbert defeats Rosol and
Dzymhur beats Mayer

Chung needs to revamp his service motion. I predict an injury if he doesn't.
Ymer was very far back in the court. He relies too heavily on foot speed.

These youngsters are mostly taking their opponents to three sets rather than being overwhelmed by the occasion and losing in two. I think Zverev is the best pick to dominate, especially on fast surfaces.

Meanwhile, Roger is back in action today. This must be one of the longest gaps in his playing time of his entire career.

Dzymhur is a scrapper. I'm glad he got through.

I misspelled his name, and you copied me;)
Should be Dzumhur.

Bummer, just getting ready to watch the match. :cry

It was ridiculous coming back this soon after artho-surgery anyway! He's going to have more and more of these withdrawals with age setting in; excuse of stomach virus or not! :nono :cover

Gastro-intestine infection, that is what the reporter said. I am watching Fritzy - Ferru, there mentioned it.

Zeballos will replace Roger, so JMDP will play a second Argentine in a row.
