Hopefully Fog brings it in the semifinals, would be nice to see him in a final, that'd shoot his ranking up quite a bit too.

Well, I won't be rooting for that. And I don't think Flavia will be either. Apparently, Fabio hasn't been home for 2 months.

Can you imagine -- after all this time people looking for the next big thing, next #1, nextgen, nextgender and whatever -- and then that guy is Fognini.... :dance2:

Big chances, for sure. At least two times larger than one in a mega gazilion.

Fabio is 29, 5'10", and he's not going to stop being mercurial. He may settle into a more consistent place, and make more of his lovely tennis, but he's not going to be the next big thing.

I'm sure Carol is enjoying herself in the stadium this evening.

The attitude in this set is completely switched. Rafa needs to remember who's winning this match.

I am not saying he will be -- it was all in obvious jest -- but I do say one thing: The next big thing is either someone under the radar, or someone we say categorically "no", as you did above.

BTW, helluva match between the top spin duo.

Sock hits some clean shots and Rafa went back to hitting short.

Sock will be pretty deflated losing that game. Volley on break point was dreadful and he blew another break point on the forehand he should have won.

Sock makes the difficult shots and misses the easy ones... anyway, level still very high.

Terrible, multiple missed opportunities by sock on that game to go up double break and close the door on the set. :cry

I'm not sorry, but Sock missed a lot of opportunities in that game.
