Didn't watch the match. But according to Delpo, the wrist wrapping was

"because I was sweating too much: it’s nothing to worry about”.

But then what will Carol complain about

I wasn't complaining about anything, I just said that Delpo had to call the trainer because his wrist sweating or not. Oh, by the way today Roger is going to have a very easy pass because Bautista has some stomach problems since IW and he even can't to serve well because he feels pain, maybe he has appendicitis, I don't know why he is still playing. This is not a complain but a fact :(

Agreed about DP, he looks like a top 20 or maybe top 15 player already but he's been screwed by the draws so far. I just hope the wrist is fine, I noticed he started primarily slicing the ball more at the end of the match after having both wrists taped in the 2nd set after hitting through many backhands in the 1st set. And I'd also say DP isn't moving as well as we know he can, not yet anyways.

Honestly I think del Potro changed to the slice because it was working better than the drive. Federer was almost not missing, but most of the few misses he had were trying to spin out some low balls. Maybe it was just that (wishful thinking alert).

A commentator in a Brazilian site (a good one) mentioned a study by some American TV network saying that the Miami courts are playing faster than IW. In fact I still did not screamed in disgust in front of the TV, like I did once some years ago (and no, it wasn´t on a Federer match). Does anyone have seen that? And what do you guys think?

I thought they looked slower than IW from the bits I've seen.

See it from the bright side: at least this way Bautista-Agut has an excuse for the 6x1 6x2 or worst he is about to face. (no need to defend him, BTW, he is a fine player, but his game style is just the perfect prey for Federer´s game right now).

I think Federer, Nadal, and Nishikori are almost shoe-ins for their quarters. Of the first quarter, I think Stan will beat Zverev, but then Kyrgios will beat Stan. So I think we'll have:

Kyrgios vs. Roger
Rafa vs. Kei

I wouldn't be surprised to see a Nick vs. Kei final.

I'm hoping for a Zverev vs. Kyrgios quarter because that is a rivalry I want to see develop more. They're apparently friendly off court, but I can see them being on court rivals for a long time. Wawrinka-Kyrgios would of course be a good match as well, for on and off the court reasons. Not sure who to pick from this quarter- I think all three of those guys have a realistic shot.

I'm already feeling sorry for Berdych, predicting another humiliating defeat to Fed.

I want to and think we will see the Nadal-Sock match. It will be a good test to see where Sock really is, and whether he really has a shot at a sustained stay inside the top 10 or is going to max out at the cusp of the top 10 like Isner. I think the latter scenario is more likely.

Nishikori should come through on the other side without too much heartburn. I could actually see him making the final... he can rush Rafa the way Fed has done in their last two matches. Not quite as successfully, of course, but I think effectively enough to squeeze out a 3 set win.

Fed-Kei final is my prediction, with Fed completing the sunshine double. He's just too dialed in right now, regularly hitting from so far inside the court.

The Rafa that beat Dimitrov will defeat Samurai, not this Rafa unless he plays like the last set by coming forward against Phil Kohl.

hard to tell. The Isner - Zverev match made the court seem slower to me. But then watching Federer in his matches, Tiafoe, and Stan... the ball looked to be moving fast through the court. Perhaps we're not accounting for wind?

The bounce is very high in Miami, much much higher than IW. That usually indicates it is a slower court but not necessarily.

I don't expect Zverev to beat Stanimal, who is just too hungry after IW. Kyrgios will be a different matter, though - that match could be a blood-bath.

I think Kei can beat Rafa.

Kei needs to beat Delbonis first, who's taken the match to a third set ...

Fog destroys the Donald 6-0 6-4. I guess he's decided to try this week, wish we saw him do that more consistently... Kei is in a 3rd set vs. Delbonis. Could we have a Fog-Delbonis QF in Miami? That'd be absurd.

Well.. I was hoping that incident went unnoticed :snicker..

Yeah,.Donald was a bit cranky today..I seen all players , especially Murray be a bit sully to the umpire...just a bad day at the office..all players have em..this shouldn't take away from the fact he has played some inspired tennis and people should pay attention

I dislike Fognini so much that I am starting to like him. It must be some tennis variation of the Stockholm syndrome.

It takes a weird kind of person to tolerate Fog's antics enough to like/root for him. I guess I'm that guy. At least he's one of those players where you are never surprised when and how he loses so you're never really disappointed.

Kei gets the break in the 3rd now serving at 4-2. Talent-wise I truly believe Kei and Fog should be a fairly even match but one guy is a serious professional while Fog is not always there. I looked up the H2H and it is 2-0 for Kei, both matches were fairly competitive though.

I know there´s a lot of debate around Carol´s posts about Federer (which I mostly disagree, but the boards are here to debate anyway), just out of curiosity, why exactly my post was singled out? She herself seemed to be fine with it.

And she is definitely forbidden to comment on Roger Rabbit.
