Starting to get nervous about all the hype around Alcaraz. Hopefully he's ignoring it.

After the AO final this match has been the best of the year. Both players playing great but that last tiebreak wasn't for cardiacs, that last point was superb!

That was a 'sic' point played by Carlos he just shows no fear and goes after his shots I just love watching him play
Carol please we are Rafa fans we are used to suffering and having near cardiac arrests in matches :)

Agreed...fantastic from Kecmanovic, as well.
Yeah, it's nice to see two players battling out and leaving everything on a court. Sometimes 3 set matches can be very thrilling too. I am glad that Kecmanovic is playing good again. When I watched him 2 years ago or so, he was very solid at that time, but he really struggled for last 2 years. Looks like hard work is paying off and hopefully he continues working with Nalbandian to reach much higher ranking.

And what to say about Alcaraz, only sky is the limit and I will be surprised if he doesn't reach top 5 by the end of the year.

It's a big ask at this stage, because Rafa is still favourite, Novak is going to be up for it, but Carlos is looking great every match. Loads of energy and fight. Kecmanovic was great too - such a level of play by both of them. I don't think Carlos is at the level Rafa was at that same age, but it's hard to gauge, isn't it? He looks smaller but it seems he's the same height as Rafa - 1.85m. He could beef up a little, but usually they do. He's definitely got the hunters attitude, but we don't know yet how he'll handle a final on the biggest stage...

I think it is all about perspective, Carlos is a hunter for sure, but he has that humble workman’s approach of one match at a time. I think that is what has helped him get to this point in a way that has gotten notice and respect. He’s not like some of these morons who act like they are going to do something before they actually do it.

Yeah, he's a grafter. I like that in him. Seems to have his feet on the ground, too...

And one point at a time within each match. That’s one of his most impressive features: he’ll make a UFE, then move on to the next point. That mentality has helped him win TBs, sets, and entire matches, unlike the players who go berserk if they miss a shot, and let it affect them for too long. Now, whether or not he’ll be able to do this in his first GS final, we don’t yet know, but I suspect he’ll handle it better than others.

I took him not to mean this RG literally, but that the vibe is similar, surrounding Carlos. He did bulk up a bit in the off-season...I think he's good where he is.

Definitely. He’s doing all the right things and moving at the speed of light. He’ll make the clay season really interesting..

Hopefully not TOO interesting. I will still enjoy the tedium that will come with the unsurprising Nadal 14th title. ;)

I’ve said this before, he looks smaller. If he’s 6’ it’s barely…
