Medvedev, Zverev and Tsitsipas are really worthless... FAA, Sinner and Shapovalov too...

The torch has been passed from Sampras to Federer to Nadal to Djokovic and back to Nadal again... I guess Nadal will continue winning for the next 2-3 years and then pass the torch to Alcaraz...

Wow a lot of us thought that 2022 would be the year of Medvedev, Zverev and Tsitsipas but it's looking as if they might not be the "next big thing" after all... They just keep being disappointing...
You read my mind… the spring HC season would have been the perfect opportunity for Medvedev to consolidate his #1 ranking but a 3rd round & Qtrs at the 2HC masters won’t cut it. Ditto the “ Crown Princes” (Tsitsipas & Zverev) however so far they have had better results on red clay than Medvedev so we’ll see.

With Nadal out and Djokovic rusty you would think the Crown Princes will seize Monte Carlo ( Stefano is defending champ) and Barcelona & Madrid (Zeverev defending champ) but again that’s far from a slam dunk. They both plenty of points to defend in the claycourt season. One thing they have shown so far is that the weight of added expectations is something they cannot handle.

If Nadal can stay healthy and Novak back it looks like a genuine battle for the YE #1 ranking , there literally is not much margin between the top 5 not to think they all still have a plausible chance.

First set to Kecmanocic in the TB. Alcaraz showed some nerves, for once. ¡Vamos, Carlos!

What I like about Kecmanocic's game is his ability to create angles and also change the direction of the ball

I'm sure Novak is sitting there quite proud as Kecmanovic represents Serbia! :face-with-hand-over-mouth: :shushing-face::angry-face::fearful-face:

Judging by Kecmanovic’s year and Djokovic’s showing in Dubai there is no doubt that Kecmanovic would have won their meeting in the first round of the Australian Open. :thinking-face::shushing-face::yawningface::face-with-hand-over-mouth::partying-face:
