^ Right now TTC is showing Sock/Thiem. They're on serve in the first, with Sock serving at 4-5.

Sock won in straight sets. There seems to be a different level of maturity in this young man, after he came back from the surgery layoff.
I also heard that his brother was facing some life threatening illness, and Jack was dedicating his win to his brother at IW.
It is clear that when you face suddenly adversities in your young life, the process of maturity will be expedited and you will skip some phases in the process.
Not to speak about his success in doubles surely plays a big role also as a confidence builder.
I just hope USA media will not jump on his back with the hype machine.
Too late for that. They're already touting him as the next big thing. Between IW and this week, TTC actually showed more of his matches than they showed of Isner's. :popcorn

No, the US media has hyped him long ago. Here is an article from NY times as early as Aug. 2014.

Jack Sock to be renamed Jack Sucks. Up 40-30 on his serve to tie things up at 5-5, he double faults twice and then chunks his forehand into the net.... first set Thiem.

Why a no? Aren't you agreeing that the hype has already started?

Sorry, Yes, I agree.

I meant to just reply to Herios's message (in which case no would be appropriate).
I accidentally quoted your message.

As expected, Stan completes the IW and M double. :snicker

But, he will be back in force for the clay season, mark my words.

So all that hype about Sock will fizzle a bit. Thiem teaches him a little straight set lesson :ras:

Sad to see sock go. With Wawrinka out again, he had a chance to really rack up some points. Murray has no trouble with Giraldo. :clap Tsonga in a 2nd set TB to stay alive.

Yeah maybe the hype on both sides is really just an effort to re-engage U.S. viewers

When Verdasco plays like this he's fun to watch. So much talent. Just goes to show with tennis... talent is not enough

Of that there is no doubt. But what else are they going to do? It's all they have right now.

Wonder if that double fault was a case of champions fatigue for Rafa

I think it was a case of Verdasco teeing off on his second serves. But Rafa breaks back.

^ Yup could be. Just not often I see Rafa double faulting at a critical time. Anyway, it's all irrelevant. Let's see how he steps up when we hit the red stuff

Looking at the Rafa #Nadal forehand placement. Way too short right now... #MiamiOpen
