Wawrinka, Nadal, Tsonga all out today with Berdych hanging on for dear life.

Andy should really be sleepwalking into his first Masters 1000 final since this tournament in 2013, but god knows he'll find a way to make it hard for himself and possibly even fluff his lines.

Definitely Rafa has regressed as a tennis player and loosing to Verdasco is an all-time Low.why does he plays so passively is really concerning

Berdych led 40-15, Tomic gets to a match point but Berdych holds and now its 5-all in the second. What a match! Tomic is gonna be feeling more than wisdom tooth pain if he lets this one slip away.

This is Verdasco's second (and that too consecutive victory) against Rafa. His last one
was in 2012 Madrid. The two have not played each other for the last couple of years.

Now, all the Spanish Second Tier players (Ferrer in Monte Carlo, Almagro in Barcelona, Deliciano in Shanghai and Verdasco in Miami) have beaten Rafa in the last 12 months. When will the third tier players get a chance (GGL. MG, PCB etc)?

Oh please. He lost to Fernando before and he had much more surprising upsets than today. Fernando at his best is a lot better than Berrer, Darcis, Rosol, Zeballos, etc.

He lost his nerve after winning 6 games in a row against Verdasco in the 2nd. And his serve was crap. Yes, very concerning. Verdasco, to his credit, returned to the brave tennis that was working for him in the 1st.

Holy Moley! Berdych escapes three match points and takes the 2nd set TB! Going to a third now. Will be interesting to see how Tomic responds.

Verdasco sucks and is known historically as choker and a head case. I bet you whomever he plays in the next round will defeat him in straight sets.

Rafa is now virtually (not yet officially) certain to be ranked outside of top 4 after Miami is over.
On paper, Kei, Milos and Ferrer all have a chance to pass him. But, at least one of them
is sure to pass him.

However, Rafa will be seeded #3 or #4 in Monte Carlo as some folks such as Andy and Kei are
not playing in MC.

Watched the last set, and wow, some brilliant shots from Verdasco. Nadal was definitely hitting the ball too short at times, allowing Fernado to dictate the rallies, but it was a great win. Well done!

What an escape by Berdych! He shakes off 4 (?) match points and takes the match 6-7(4), 7-6(4), 6-1! Tomic won't be sleeping well tonight.

All four of my favorites are still in so this is getting good! :clap

rafa win/loss record since lifting the French open trophy is....22-10.

Jeez, I didn't realize it was that atrocious. Anyways I won't throw dirt on the bull until he loses at RG, actually won't throw dirt on him until he has a slamless season. One can hope like hell this is finally the year. Rafa-free 2015...I can get on board :)
