Roger really earned this win and showed he is technically the most talented of the three, and Nadal the least. All of his endless running and groaning did not help him in the end.

I’d hate to be 4-10 and 6-10 in slam meetings against my 2 rivals. The only wife that has been often disappointed is:

Federer is probably the fastest player on tour, and so is Djokovic.

Right now, on Eurosport, they are showing the AO Final 2017.
5th set at the moment, very good match, worth to rewatch.
The better player won!
That is indeed true, as to the better player on the day. But Nadal was pretty flat during much of it. (And yes, I did watch much of the replay the other day.) I don't care if I get razzed, but I still disagree with the AO scheduling choice of giving one of the men's finalists an extra day of rest. A lot of the SFs of late have been hard contests. That's a big disadvantage for the one who draws the short straw. Thiem had the 2nd SF this year. I'm not saying it's the only reason that Thiem lost this year, or that Nadal lost in 2017, but it's surely not a level playing field for the finalists.

Roger Federer is the male equivalent of Steffi Graf. Both relied immensely on their super speed to cover the court. They are some of the fastest ballerinas out there. They are both like gazelles they literally fly on the court.

Wow, if you think either Graf or Federer are great primarily because they are "speedy," you are smoking the good stuff. Which is a euphemism for 'you have your head up your ass" you don't know what you're talking about.

I was replying to Mr. genius Bonaca who pretends as if Nadal is the only fast runner as if Federer and Djokovic aren’t about running too when they are as fast as him. Nadal, Djokovic and Federer are ALL super fast runners but what matters is what they do when they get to the ball. But running fast is a strength for all of them, not only Nadal.

I don’t think it’s significant for both matches. Nadal is known for his unbelievable, nearly unhuman endurance. And the schnitzel is young enough to compensate. The giraffe match was kind of Rest for him.
Both played the best at the end and were outplayed.
Some can argue similarly for example for the FO F 2015, in this case I also don’t think that was the reason.

Some really intelligent poster out there don’t get the difference between speed and endurance. I never wrote Nadal was very fast.

Of course but there are faster guys out there, the troll referred to my post. My point wasn’t about his speed , it was about his endurance.
In terms of speed, I think lady thiem, despite looking strong and maskulin , is faster.
I think Nadals speed is not his strongest weapon, he is too heavy to be one of the fastest, it’s the combination of power and endurance. Look at him, he resembles a pumped up bull.

LOL! endurance? Federer is the one who can play five sets at nearly 40 years old and still at the end of the match run like crazy while barely taking 5 seconds between points and not even breaking a sweat or taking a deep breath, while Nadal is actually getting a couple of time violations between points looking very tired and trying to recuperate.

Sorry but Djokovic and Federer have as much endurance as Nadal if not more. Stop acting as if Nadal is the only one who has some physical advantage because Federer and Djokovic are up there too. Federer looks like Superman out there and Djokovic looks like some robot.

Nadals physical advantage is dominant, while Federer and Novak are Technically dominant. Novak also mentally when it comes to matches against these two.
Without his crazy endurance I don’t know if Bull would be Top100.
What stupid argument and comparison to Fed playing 5sets. Look at their playing styles and how much Fed is running during 5 sets and how much Bull.

Keep dreaming. Many players make Federer run like crazy and he is still not tired. When he plays Nadal or Djokovic he has to play very long points but he is still not tired. And Djokovic of all people is content to put the ball in play like some wall while at least Nadal looks more to finish off the points with his huge forehand or attacking the net.

It’s really ridiculous to talk about Nadal’s physical strength when you are a fan of Djokovic. Lol If Djokovic or Federer weren’t as fast or didn’t have their physical strength they wouldn’t even be in the top 1000. And take away Federer’s serve and he wouldn’t even make it on the women’s tour. :smooch:

Federer and Novak have better offensive skills than Bull. Espacially Fed can shorten points much better.
If he can’t he lose.
Look at the miles they ran in their 5 setter, who ran the most?
Haha Bull to shorten points, yes, look at who plays moonballs the most of these three, Bull is more like a WTA player. Reminds me of Putintseva. So ridiculous.

Nadal’s forehand is the biggest shot in Tennis. And if your definition of moon ball is huge topspin then sure. You know, in every thread you have to come in and attack Nadal and pretend that he is just some average player so believe me I will always be there to put you back in your place! For years you didn’t even like Federer, you just hate Nadal so you added Federer alongside Djokovic just to put down Nadal even more.

Very wrong.
Moonball is mostly BH hit, high and long to stay in a rally when the opponent is making too much pressure, Espacially on clay. No spin n there, it’s a pure rescue hit.
I never saw This from Novak or Maestro. I see this more often in WTA, and sometimes from Nadal. Don’t get me wrong lady, it’s effective but not pretty, Espacially from a guy with his working style of play. He looks desperate in these moments.

Second mistake from you: I always liked Federers play, not him as a person, but his talent, it’s phenomenal. Has nothing to do with Nadal.

Oh please Nadal has one of the best backhands in the game and he uses it as a huge weapon. It’s very powerful and yet very diverse, he can hit it with a topspin, he can flatten it out for huge winners and he can also slice it perfectly, you need help.

Nice try but you used to barely talk about Federer until he finally beat Nadal at the Australian open after a zillion years and had a good run against him, and now all of a sudden you use him as a weapon to further your hate for Nadal.

Sure, he has a very good overall play, he isn’t one of the best ever without a good BH, but not as good as Novaks or Maestros. It’s a weak part of his game. And he is the only one of the three who uses these desperate moonballs.
No you lie, I rooted always for Fed against Nadal, always, not only after that Final.
Not hate just antipathy for Bull.
