The sad thing is, he can't do anything about it. He can whine and say, I wasn't comfortable, I couldn't return his first serve (Jesus what an excuse), etc but he shouldn't be humiliating himself anymore. This old man we see on court now just isn't Roger Federer. This is some guy who has a horrendous backhand and has no idea what he is doing anymore. You can call it denial or whatever, but I can't watch this guy anymore. The number of errors he makes is somewhere around his first serve percentage... :nono

Wuh?

You'll end up watching nobody at this rate. You can't watch Rafa, now Federer. Why? He lost a third set tiebreak 14-12? And you call that humiliating? Seriously, you need to calm down. When two players enter the court, one of them loses. Usually it's not Fedal. So, they lost a few? Big deal. You stop watching them two and you just might have to skip watching the FO final... ;)

Yeah, I know, perhaps I should watch WTA and casually read TF? I could just watch WTA and root for the hotter girl in any match :D
You are right though, I am overreacting big time, but watching things unfold as they are now, it's not entertaining at all.

Why else would anyone watch the WTA?

I actually think it's very entertaining when a lower ranked player sticks his fist in Fedal's mushes and says, hand it over, feller. Much better than the days when anyone ranked outside the top two was basically little more than a rollover jackpot... :cover

Lol at the WTA part
And about guys stepping up to Fedal:
It's entertaining if they don't lose serious ranking points and that it was actually a good match, but it happens more often than not, they are both scraping wins at this point.

They have a combined age of 62, what do you expect?

Nothing anymore. Every game they win is a surprise it would seem.

Trust me, these two aren't finished. They're shipping in some water, that's normal, but they know how to win big when others look confused...

Sveta serving for the match at 5-4. Andy/Kohls should be getting ready to walkout.

OK. Don't mind me. Sveta failed to serve it out twice. In the TB now. :cover

the fedster lost..i knew it, soon as I saw that 2nd rd come out..in fact I checked the score it was 7-6, 6-6. I said to my mum, fedster gonna lose, he gonna lose this tb then lose in the 3rd. looked like it was an epic though.

still a big win for the special k. borderline top30 now with 90pts minimum to add and no points to defend from last year seemingly.

I can't force myself to watch the highlights of Fed vs...
I am utterly disgusted when I see the guy play, and it has nothing to do with Wafa just as tented said
Can someone briefly explain what the hell happened and why? How is Federer so bad on clay? Clay has become to Roger what grass is for Nadal. The losses aren't even that surprising anymore. He might as well skip the French Open and do extra early preps for Wimbo...

Been saying this since he finally took his lone title in '09! That was his real last chance even though he made another final in 2011! :eyepop :nono  :dodgy:

FYI, Federer had more winners than Nick in the match. Not only that Federer had more
differential (i.e., winners - ufe) in that match. So, it is not that he did not play well or anything.
He just could not win. He was not blown away or anything. After all the match went to three
sets, each set went to a tie-breaker and the final tie-breaker went to 14-12 and you are
acting out. Get real, there is a 13 year age difference here.

This is so ridiculous to start these matches now! At least Kei's in the 3rd set against Goffin! Mon dieu, it's after 1 am there! :popcorn - This is a long service game for Murray! This doesn't look good for him so far!

Nothing funny about it. The guy is fairly useful on clay.

Got to wonder if a long match like this will take its toll on the old fogey... :popcorn
That's what I said last week when he played in Instanbul, but I was quickly rebutted by a few people who stated it was good for him to win these exaggerated close matches.

Got to hand it to him, "age shall not wither him", etc. :s

Nick's bro is in the stand muttering darkly: "Yo bro! Federer's a hater, yo!"

lol nicks clown of a brother raging on twitter last year about "the haters" ..:snicker

..so there he was hating on the haters, thus becoming a "hater" himself..i suppose the irony passed him by though. :dodgy:

Despite today's loss, I expect Roger to do well in both Rome and RG, barring running into some
big hitters. Actually, he can only do better than he did last year. Last year, he went out in 2nd round
in Rome and 4th round in RG.

So, the important point is that he cannot possibly lose his #2 ranking or seeding at Wimbledon.
Hope, he can win that one this year.

Whut? He was already a break up and never faced a break point in that game. Hardly worrying times.

Stayed up so long for this that even though I need to get sleep for work tomorrow I have to continue watching. Hopefully it continues in this vein. Andy looking sharp, just need to keep it up.

Cue the annual complaint about the late nights in Madrid. This match was always scheduled as "not before 9:30pm." Spaniards stay up late. The ones in Oz can start really late, too. And even IW, as I recall. Tennis players do the performance part of their jobs between 11am and late at night. They'll survive.

I was out all afternoon, and was not surprised to see that Kyrgios gave Roger a hard time, but I was surprised it wasn't Fed who came through in the final set TB. Will have to catch up with that one.

It's just that they'll be there rather late and will have to play again the same day; just later! In the States, no way would they have started that match after 1 am! Wasn't there another lighted court somewhere to get it going, then move to Centre Ct? Crazy! :cover :puzzled :nono
