My goodness El Dude, that was 13 years ego, who can remember that Master?
Nabaldian was a great player without any GS because unfortunately he wasn’t 100% in the game, he liked more the parties and to eat too much barbecue food

Haha, I know - but at least he won it. Poor guy: wins a Master at age 20, then nothing big after.

I hear you about Nalbandian, but my point simply is that despite him having "mad skills," he wasn't able to bring it into actual play on a regular basis - and no matter how skillful, that is still a major part of how good a player is: his ability to actualize his potential.

Berdych won Paris Masters once. He had been in the finals of Wimbledon once and had reached SF or better in all slams. He has been ranked as high as #4. He has more wins against top players. Whichever way you look at Berdych is better than Verdasco based on his resume.
Agree. Berdych's career when all done will definitely be superior to Verdasco's. As far as abilities well that can be argued but not their results.

Berdych has declined a lot. He wouldn't have lost such matches earlier. Anyway Shap is better atleast he'll not bendover to Nadull.

Those Italians suck in organizing an event. Saint Peter lives just about two Kilometers from the Foro Italico and they let the rain spoil the tournament.

I don't think St. Peter was a fan of fascism so no wonder he sands rain to Musolini's courts. St. Peter, on the other hand, preferred poor and promoted poverty.

spoken like a true dulltard, trying to pump up dull's nonexistent competition to Fed's. Only a fool would rate Bendych higher than Nalbandian.

Really, why is that? Berdych earned 29M prize money so far, Nalbandian only 11. Tom's record is 626-328, 13 titles, Nalbandian's 383-192, 11 titles.

Nalbandian is more talented and more complete than Berdych, better mover, better at pretty much all strokes , much like Safin although Safin had more firepower. His performances at WTF 05, Madrid 06, USO 03 are better than anything Berdych has produced. Nalbandian on his day was extremely tough for both Fed and Nadull specially the latter and he came closer to winning a slam than Berdych.

Piling up statistics such as Berdych making QF/SF in almost every tournament similar to Ferrer doesn't automatically make you a better player.
This notion that consistency is the most important metric in determining a player's greatness which seems to be more prevalent amongst fans of pushers is appaulling. Quality > Quantity.

I am ok with other metrics. But, comparing the prize money earned is tricky. The prize money keeps on increasing. Berdych earned more prize money than folks such as Lendl (21.26 million) and Becker (25.08 million). Would you say Berdych is better than either of them. The prize money metric always has a recency bias.

I agree with you that prize money is really hard to compare, because it's been going up pretty quickly in a short time. The win/loss and title comparison is a much better one.

Watching the replay I see the match between Shapo and Berdych was more tied that I thought. The Canadian has to learn to play more calm, he plays too accelerated
Tomorrow Thiem-Fog match is going to be very interesting

Tsitsipas had the worst draw. Coric in round one then Potro. Let’s see how he does in round 2.

Domi is going home like his girl. Had a multitude of BP's in this set and failed miserably on all of them.

Although you never know with him, it is normal for him to be extra motivated considering he plays in Italy.
