Good job Domi! Bringing the pain. He was firing on all cylinders today and played some pretty good defense too. Two first time master and IW champions is a repeat of last year's results.

with generous help from the old man. Look Dominic was awesome. But he should be happy he was playing Federer at 0-30 in the third set. Nadal, even with a limp, takes it from there.
All Rafa's knee need is some synvic injections that will provide the cushion for the lack of cartilage ..it will alleviate the pain for 6 months..I am having the same procedure this week..the King of Clay will be back for some Swiss and Serbian scalps..Vamos

Let me go look at the "up to the moment" rankings! Dom and Roger should have changed places with Thiem going to #4 and Fed #5!

Embarrassing for Fed. Thiem and Zverev both ahead of him. Hopefully he gets a top 4 seed at Wimbledon. With their ranking system it is possible.

I don't see how it's embarrassing if he was out-played.

I've been praying for this moment for so long! The Next Gen'rs had to do it sooner or later; expected a while back, but 2017 showed they weren't ready yet! They allowed Roger to take 2 majors and Masters while Nole and Andy out, then rounded the # to 20 with 2018 AO! Hope they can keep it up! :yesyes: :p  :ptennis:

You don't see how him being ranked below Thiem and Zverev is embarrassing for him? And losing in general is embarrassing especially up against someone with no resume off clay at all coming in. Anyways it is mostly about majors for Fed anyways, but not slamming the door shut on this match doesn't help his confidence in a tight match come Wimbledon.

I like how most of posts after the finish are Rafa fans rubbing salt in wounds. Nice.

Seriously, though, it is hard to be bummed that Thiem won. I didn't think he would beat Roger, although I did predict he'd win a clay Masters this year. I'm glad to see the Masters tour start with a new champion, and a youngish one at that.

Roger, at 37, has nothing to be embarrassed about. Fans that constantly whine that he's not in peak form at 37 might have something to embarrassed about, though...

Sad stuff from Roger.

Can't handle heavy shots anymore.
His movement is so declined it's painful to watch at times.

Oh well congrats to Thiem.
Wouldn't be surprised if he comes out as the most dominant player of the clay season this year. His groundstrokes are more powerful than last year

I didn't rub it in when Nadal was taken to the cleaners in the AO final.
But pretend that Fed fans don't enjoy a Nadal loss. I haven't rubbed this one in, either. We're discussing.

Please tell me if I rubbed salt into the wound.

You take to heart that he's the GOAT, in your opinion, and a loss like this is "embarrassing." TBH, I think this loss starts to be more about your ego than Roger's.

I read back over the last couple of pages. I don't see where you're getting "salt in the wounds." Please read back. The harsher comments are Kskate and Fiero, who have no skin in the game.
