Typical match when playing against Roger. Roger plays the ball with nifty flicks and the opponent works much harder chasing down the ball. Thiem is doing that very well.

Pathetic stuff from Fed. I guess a somewhat encouraging couple weeks but he still has work to do to prove he can still be relevant. Too many mental gaffes to win a big event even against a 2nd tier guy.

he was the better player. he deserves it. Federer couldn't deal with the heavy topspin.

So Roger only lost because he was crap?

Fucking awful. Can't blame the guy if he ain't hungry enough but still tough to watch retarded losses. Knew it was over after blowing that 0-30 point at 4-3

This is disappointing. Roger should have done better in set 2. He loses to guy who has been playing not so well this year.

At some point you better accept that this is Fed's real level in any tough and big match going forward. We've seen it too many times.

Roger played pretty well in large patches. The slightly missed cross court forehand to go up love forty likely was it—he probably would have won if he got there. Dominic was fabulous all match long. He fought hard and deserved the win.

Yes exactly. That was his only chance and he knew it too. So he felt the pressure. Thiem was swinging freely. Even if Fed won today, it would have given him a false sense of where he is at. So it's good that he lost. It's just Indian Wells.
