Roger played pretty well in large patches. The slightly missed cross court forehand to go up love forty likely was it—he probably would have won if he got there. Dominic was fabulous all match long. He fought hard and deserved the win.

Let me go look at the "up to the moment" rankings! Dom and Roger should have changed places with Thiem going to #4 and Fed #5!

Yes, Roger drops 1 spot, bring passed by Domi

He certainly wasn't any good was he? You don't lose to that clay courter with a 50 second backswing if you take care of bizz
This is you making Thiem a clay courter, and deciding that Roger was by far the man to beat. Wake up and smell the flowers. Thiem played better, and he won.

No bitching unlike a certain fanbase of a twat with a limp knee.
Rafa's knee flared up..I was the first to say he would withdrawn from any more hc matches..nah Bro .no bitchin here..wait til Front hears of to this loss .. BTW Thiem is gonna emerge out of the 2tier..it's a quality loss by Roger just as Delpo was last year's final

As you saw, Thiem finally exposed Roger's weaknesses after all other players on tour failed.

But the court is slow. Fed can't do much. Not if he shanks that much.

Indeed, that's me who is ridiculously wrong here. I got confused because this late WO was listed under H2H "Event breakdown" list as if it did count because it's not it marked as "non-countable' in any way. Very confusing. I didn't bother counting the number of entries in the long list hence I fell victim of the confusion. There are indeed 39 entries in the list, while the score is 15-23 as if there were 38 entries only.
I obviously apologise & I have removed my post.
All good,
Safe to say Roger Federer is done now
someone (fiero) actually likes that Federer is done? IMO totally undeserved hatred for a champ who is clearly in his twilight year.

Federer has won this tournament 5 times. It's not the court. Dominic beat him.

with generous help from the old man. Look Dominic was awesome. But he should be happy he was playing Federer at 0-30 in the third set. Nadal, even with a limp, takes it from there.

Trust me. One of these minons are gonna blame Rafa's WD as for Roger's loss...

It didn't change the draw; just filled in a LL! It isn't like a few yrs ago when Murray WD from the FO which changed the seedings! Nole had to play Rafa in the SF instead of the final which may or may not have made a difference in 2013! Ferrer made it easy for Rafa!
