That was hard-fought, and the conditions were rough, but Rafa pulled himself up to his best height at the end, and broke to win. Great effort by Muller.

I watched some of it, but the gusty wind ruined the match, rafa won :dance3: so that'll do.

Well, the final result didn't ruin it for me. And Rafa didn't blink when offered an end, which is a good thing. (#smallfavors)

The gusty wind was for everyone but who knew to deal better with it was the winner :cheerleader:

Tough second rounders for Djokovic and Nadal. I thought Muller might be potential banana skin... but they both gutted it out.

Rafa didn't play well but he 'survived', next match against Verdasco will be better (I think)
If someone is thinking that Novak or any other player can play well every single tournament and for ever and ever, wrong!
By the way I've read (in a Spanish newspaper) an interview of Novak's father and sorry to say but ......he talks too much o_O

anyone see the murray mess ?..4-1 up in 3rd set and then decides to go on holiday. git. :-(

drop shots and lobs on windy days went wrong and then he started missing routine rally shots. I think as a fan/viewer I was not enjoying the match too much. palm trees scenes from around the grounds were v enchanting though.

I also didn't watch Murray, thinking it was a gimme. He's had a lot going on the last few weeks, so a bit of leeway will be given.

Nice effort by Coric for extending it, but it wasn't to be, today.

It wasn't a win, but it was a building block. Same as Tiafoe's loss to Goffin. You hung tough against a top guy. Money in the bank for these young guns, in terms of confidence.

Andy Murray has a history of flops at IW. This was not such a big surprise for me.
He struggled in the previous round as well.
