Goffin finally holds his nerve on some big points to fend off 3 break points and go 6-5 up.Stan serving to stay alive.

Marin Cilic did not get the memo...He defeats for the first time Gasquet in his career:
7-5, 5-7, 6-2.

I cannot believe Wawrinka missed that putaway at 5-5 in the TB. It would have given him MP. He missed one of the easiest shots he's going to ever get.

Instead Goffin gets the MP and then takes the match.

Goffin rode his luck a bit then as he gets tight when it matters. Stan did all the work to get himself back in a position to win this after a poor start and then blows himself up with one of worst misses on a gimmee shot you'll see.

Zverev and Nadal both had shaky moments in the tiebreak. Too often the case these days, it's Rafa that's missing it in the key moments. First set to the bean pole.

The kid makes some rookie mistakes. Rafa seems to have gotten a read more on his game...they had never played before. And Nadal has cleaned up his errors. But Zverev can fight for it, based on some past scrappy wins. Looks like we'll get a 3rd set. I expect Sasha to fight for the 3rd, though I hope Rafa still has the better of him.
