My Blazers are a pleasant surprise so far. I just wonder how long it'll be before they come back to earth.

I don't want to jinx it but my Raps playing amazing, correct basketball ever since Gay got traded. Talk about addition by subtraction...They had every reason to tank , eye the lottery, but they are a team now, beating teams like OKC and Indiana...I am amazed. Let's see if they can compete against the Heat on Sunday.

Yes they have caught fire and in the East you can jump up the standings by winning a few games in a row. Suddenly the Raps are 4th and closing in on 3rd with a 16-15 record.

Keep your eyes on the Warriors, They have come out to plaaauyy:clap

They are a dangerous bunch as long as Lee and Bogut are healthy. That's the defense/rebounding/inside scoring. Otherwise this team becomes just a bunch of shooters like last year.

I am surprised by them too Haychew. Aldridge is a beast yet they aren't the stacked team talent wise that would figure to be at the top of the West.

They are the pleasant surprise on the NBA to contrast the Nets as the unpleasant surprise.

Very true, they are a very fun exciting team to watch

Bulls trade Deng to Cleveland for Bynum and 3 draft picks. What? :speechless:

Good God, they did THAT? I assume we are talking 3 2nd round picks?

That kind of screams "we think Derrick Rose will never be great again so let's semi-rebuild."

That or they might try to take a run at the LeBron sweepstakes? Cleveland also seems to be doing what they can to get in the mix for getting Lebron to go back...everything except winning.

Bynum is such a gamble man...I would NEVER take on an often injured big man.

They are going to release him and end up saving about $20 million in cap space according to the article. I'm thinking Melo might be a free agent this upcoming season too or, if not, there are a couple other decent free agents that they might go after. They must be confident they can land someone good or they just gave away their 3rd best player for nothing.

I told both of you.. in the NBA you want to be very horrible or very good.., the Bulls had fallen to far behind Miami and Indy to defeat either team in a best of 7 playoff series.. they are going to be a lottery pic, draft pics and cap space( they are still gonna amesty Boozer) with Drose coming back.. we will be ready for a title run in 2014-15

I don't think they are ready for a title run anytime soon. Who knows if Rose will ever be the same or if he can even stay healthy. He is looking like the 2nd coming of Grant Hill. Meanwhile the Bulls "might" be a lottery team but likely won't be top 5. I know the draft is stacked but when you get down to picks 8-15 you might not be getting a big time player.

And of course the main factor is the Lebron watch. I'm sure many teams in the East would pay tens of millions to send him across the other side of the country to LA.

Melo would never work in Thibs system. He rarely plays defense. That's why they are going to amnesty "Loozer" because he can't "D" up. Reindsdorf likes the young players they have in Taj, Butler and Snell. I know they had to deal Deng (there was talk about it last year), but for a brokedown Bynum (even though they plan on releasing him), just seems silly. I do agree that this move looks like they don't trust in Rose's ability anymore.

I doubt that the Bulls or anyone is gonna land LBJ.. he aint gonna leave unless Dwade does.. Drose will be Ok...

If the team falls flat this year and D-Wade shows more signs of being all but done in the playoffs I bet he leaves. Riley did not do a good job of plugging holes and giving hope that the team around Lebron can be good if Wade becomes average. Of course a lot of that is due to the money they have tied in 3 players.

That's the NBA lifestyle, at least he ain't Shawn Kemp yet :laydownlaughing

It isn't about DWade leaving South Beach, it is about whether DWade looks like 75% of what he was or whether he looks more like Ginobli. Lebron can be great friends with Wade and co. but it will be tough for him to want to stay if the team around him figures to suck.

The Heat are so good that Dwade can play less than 35 games or part time during the regular season, upgade him to a fulltime role just for playoff only and still win the title. He has 3 rings for that organization.. I just dont see him leaving anytime soon

Lebron can't win all 4 games by himself against Indy and SA/OKC. Even last year you had D-Wade and others step up just a bit in those 2 series to help win 1 or 2 of those games. But Indy is now improved and it remains to be seen if Wade will always be gimpy come playoffs. I just am not sure Lebron stays if Miami gets knocked out by Indy (or anyone else for that matter). Of course Cleveland doesn't look too attractive right now for many reasons so there might not be anywhere he'd go except maybe LA.

All 3 of those guys are good role players. I don't think that highly of Melo either from a "franchise player" perspective even though I think the guy has mad game and is still a positive for a team. In that respect the Bulls would improve by having Melo on the team especially if Rose isn't what he once was.

The fact of the matter is that if they don't get anyone good in place of Deng that team won't be a contender even if Rose comes back as good as ever. They were the #3 favorite in the East coming into the year with what was assumed to be a 100% Rose.
