Just joking with my brother that after seeing him mishit a putaway smash the only chance he had to convert a match point was a double fault. Right on cue.

You have to excuse Darth DJ. He can be very Darth if you know what I mean.

See. Just like that it's over now. Bring on the ageless one and the fabulous.

You're too kind KS. Call that match what it was :p

In the end his BP convo rate was better than Verd's.

Fog is playing like a beast out there. The forehand to forehand exchanges are not going Haas' way at all. Tommy has to hold here for any chance of a comeback.

Triple F is kicking ass and taking names today. Will he be able to hold on to the break?

Nope. back on serve 3-3

Tommy donates the break back. Fabulous to serve for the match at 5-4

Why isn't Fognini a top 20 player? He looks like he could hang with the likes of Simon, Dolgopolov, Monaco, and Nishikori.

Inconsistent Dude. There are days when he can light it up like today. Then there are other days he looks like his ranking (like against Novak at MC).

F3 closes it out at love. Takes out the hometown and crowd favorite 6-2 6-4. Tommy had no answers today. Congrats Fog.

He is inching closer and must be really close to, if not in the top 20 if he wins this tournament. No reason he shouldn't be there. Clay is by far his best surface but he should have better results on hards than he has thus far in his career.

With Haas and Verdasco out, there is no reason this tournament shouldn't be Roger's.

Yes. Tommy has left the building. Verdy was an inconsistent mess and lost a match from a winning position.

Is Delbonis someone we should take seriously? He's only 22, almost exactly the same age as Raonic and Janowicz (turns 23 this fall).

No reason he shouldn't make the final. Fog would be a serious threat if that's the final.

I don't see it. I see a lefty with a good topspin forehand for clay but the rest of his game is suspect. I'm not sure who he beat before today but Verdasco was just begging to be beaten today...and it took long enough.

Solid 1st set, Roger doing everything pretty well except the return. But that must be the 100,000th time I've mentioned his ROS this year.

just tuned in for the tie-breaker. i guess it's just my imagination, but i do feel like i see a slight bit of extra pop on the shots with the new racquet... especially on out-of-position stuff.

Fed is playing his best tennis in MONTHS today. I think Delbonis should be a top 50 player. His forehand and serve should translate to every surface, and his backhand is solid, but I don't see him being consistently in the top 30. Verdasco should have won that match in the second, but delbonis made him play well, and when it mattered nando cracked.

It was a tough first set for Federer but he eked it out; maybe they have never played before and Roger has not figured him out yet. :(
