It seems like they are trying to over correct something with this appeal. I think they need to come up with a comprehensive procedure that says this is what it will look like for every player if you turn a positive test result. To everyone, it looks like Sinner got off easy because in a sense he did because he didn’t have to endure any public speculation or nastiness well until later when he had enough time to develop his PR. I think to most there is no idea of how this case adhered to procedure as there was no transparency until after the case was decided.

Just watching a replay of Sinner - Rune. How was it possible for Sinner to take so long MTO outside of the court? Did he combine 2 MTOs in one? Time since last point was around 11 minutes when he came back on the court.

Just curious. Anyway, looks like Rune missed some good chances for an early break up in 3rd and the match slowly slipped away from him.
Yeah, something like this cannot happen, especially when Sinner is under the microscope for his alleged doping.

Sinner honestly looks unbeatable these days. I don't know if peak Big Three level, but very close. He's like a machine. The only hesitation I have--and hope for Zverev--is that he still seems frail around the edges, whether it is a penchant to illness or minor injury. But that's kind of the thing: in big moments right now, the only way he loses is to the good version of Alcaraz, a revived Novak (maybe) or having a sore tummy.
Tested Positive Twice Banned Substance seems to have found the magical formula to combat his “fraility”.

Well, let's hope Jannik doesn't get suspended. I'd really like to see if he can continue at this level at RG and Wimbledon. He started really strong last year, dropped off a bit mid-season, then rose to a new level at Cincinnati until now. Since CIncinnati, he's 37-1, his only loss being to Alcaraz in the Beijing final. If you include Six Kings, he's 43-1.

Ok, I'll say it. Does anyone else think a Sinner match is extremely boring to watch?
I don’t think he’s boring, he’s certainly not exciting either. Except that his excellence is exciting, but let’s say, he’s not dramatic. And that’s the winning thing for him, he’s unfazed by setbacks. He’s steady, and he can handle the occasion. He’s clear minded when he’s under the most extreme pressure. This is all good stuff. He’s no highlight reel, shot-wise, but you need Carlos level of being able to push him out of that comfort zone, to beat him.

In that sense, he’s like Wilander, Lendl, players who can spin a spiders web around an opponent. He’s less emotional/hysterical than Lendl, more intense than Mats. He’s an un-Italian Italian, in that he’s beige, rather than colourful. He’s like camouflage. You never really see him try anything new, but he efficiently drills that gameplan and he takes defeats well, and he handles success. He’s steady. I’d say his coaches love him because he’s obviously a hard worker and ambitious. Tidy, not untidy. A natural in a lot of ways, but very different to the man we think will be his historic rival.

I think Sinner is in for the long haul - but if he gets banned, then no matter what the context to it, the Kyrgios-troll types will get louder and it might affect him eventually. He’s been handling that like a dream so far..

Let's hope Jannik doesn't get banned. It would be huge blow to tennis if he was.
Not necessarily IMO, might bring back a bit of integrity if players posting positive for banned substances….shocker…drumroll…actually get suspended rather than get preferential treatment

ALL top players and their “teams” know the rules and the ramifications.

Except for a member of Jannik's team, his now-sacked masseur.

For the last time Vince Jannik Did Not Get Preferential Treatment, he replied in the amount of time 10 days citing the problem,, he followed the correct protocols, people really need to read the rules before they open their mouths, he was cleared that he did not cheat, I agree it was careless by the masseur,
BTW his now sacked masseur is now employed by Matteo Berrettini.

Wow. 3 month ban for Sinner. Very convenient he will be back for RG...
They didn't bother to punish him a little harder. As if someone looked at the calendar and said now is the best time to get this case done and over with.

Don,
I was expecting around a 3 month suspension, he had to take some responsibility for what happened, involving his physio and trainer, he was cleared of intentionally doping,.BTW WADA would not have agreed to a 3 month ban if they thought it was too lenient. This should have been way more transparent from the start and resolved a long time ago, in my opinion.
Sinner first tournament back will be Rome Masters, his suspension ends days before

He's unable to defend points from four Masters he played, for a total of 2000 points. Looks like a great opportunity for Alcaraz, but not an insurmountable loss for Sinner in terms of YE rankings.

He didn't play Rome last year, so I assume he'll play that (which starts on May 5) - and/or Hamburg or Geneva. Meaning, there are three clay tournaments he can play - or two of three, via the schedule, before Roland Garros.

Sinner will drop 2100 points arrive at Rome with 9,730 I have put it on the rankings post and also how many points Zverev and Alcaraz have to defend in that time period
, with both players having a chance to get to No 1
Correction Sinner will drop 2000 points not 2100,
