Yeah and Ramsay killing Rickon makes sense even if he wasn't crazy. As long as there is a Stark, especially a male Stark, his claim over the North is weakened.

I actually thought the same thing regarding the Lannister army. I still think that's unlikely but who knows. And if they don't go to Winterfell where will they go next? Maybe Dorne as they certainly have some debts to pay there.

The other big thing in the last episode was the King's proclamation that a trial by combat would be removed... although I think Cersei's trial might not happen until Episode 10... which would allow time for any of the Winterfell parties to make it back to King's Landing.

A couple of rumours floating around the web are that the High Sparrow is Howland Reed - the guy who killed Ser Arthur Dayne and is a Stark loyalist... and that Jaqen H'ghar might be Arya's dance master coach - Syrio Forel... and it's part of her training. We never saw him killed either.

^ Do you read up on a lot of the fan theories? I won't mention some of them as they can kind of be spoilers but there is one huge one in particular that I think is going to end up being true. That is an interesting one regarding who the High Sparrow is. But if the High Sparrow is Howland Reed I would think he'd have been recognized by some of the people in King's Landing. And I really think Syrio is dead. I will be interested to see if Jaqen H'ghar is involved anymore. I guess his part in the story is probably over.

I read a few... but fire them up - I don't think they are spoilers just "guesses" - some are true and some are false. George R Martin even said the same. Some predict correctly.

The main one that I absolutely think is true is that Jon Snow is a Targaryen. He is the son of Rhaegar Targaryen and Lyanna Stark. Ned took him in as his own because he knew Robert would want the kid dead. This would make Snow the nephew of Dany.

The other theory that I read that might be true (but I really hope isn't) is that Tyrion is also a Targaryen. The Mad King loved Tywin's wife and may have raped her. This would make Tyrion the half brother of Dany.

I heard the first one... and that's reasonable based on what we saw in the flashbacks. There is some story to tell with Snow... unfinished business on his background.

Not heard the second and find it less likely.

Arya also heading back to Winterfell... hopefully a reunion of the sisters. Not sure where Bran is right now... and yeah, I think Rickon will bite the dust on Ramsay's sadistic terms.

I'm expecting the Snow/Stark forces to be on the wrong end of a beating but then other forces coming to rescue the situation late in the day - cue Littlefinger... I'm wondering also if there might even be a strange twist in the tale that somehow involves the Lannister Army turning up and aiding the Starks? Stranger things have happened!

Aaaaryaaaaa!!! Did you see my girl with Jedi sh1t!? :D As Yoda would say
“In a dark place we find ourselves, and a little more knowledge lights our way.”

Game of Thrones Predictions from Vox for the Big "Battle of the Bastards" Episode.

RTO_GOT_MP_100315_EP608_4641_5B1_5D.0.jpg

- Varys will strike a deal with Dorne
- Cersei will make a power play — and Tommen should watch his back
- Tyrion will narrowly escape death at Dany’s hands
- Tormund will break our hearts — and Brienne’s — by dying at the Wall
- Sansa will step up her leadership game
- Littlefinger will be the ultimate winner of the "Battle of the Bastards
- But Ramsay might kill Rickon Stark, motivating Jon to kick his ass

Not too sure about some of these... and I'm wondering whether the "Vale knights coming to the rescue"... is too "predictable" and we know GoT can be anything but...

Kind of went exactly as expected so in a way it's a bit disappointing. But I will say it was a fitting end to an incredible villain. Ramsay was awesomely terrible and the show loses a little something without him. But we know by now no matter what happens to any individual character, the show chugs along and remains great. The best I've seen.

I will be in China when the season finale airs next week. I'm hoping like hell I can watch it online and don't have to wait a full week. I'm guessing it may be a little bit slow but I'm sure there will be a big surprise or two.

Agreed, a little predictable but enjoyable all the same... that final scene with Ramsey... I almost cheered!

Where do you think Episode 10 takes us?

From the previews it looks like they'll be bouncing around a lot more next week. I am interested to see what Cersei has up her sleeve. I seriously have no clue what she's planning. And I was surprised to see Jaime and his men dining with the Freys. I hope history doesn't repeat itself unless it's the Lannisters taking out the Freys. In Winterfell it seems like Ser Davos is going to either try to kill the Red Woman or get her killed after realizing what she had Stannis do to his daughter. And Littlefinger is back in Sansa's good graces and apparently still "wants" something. Not sure if it's to marry Sansa or arrange another marriage.

So all in all there is a lot that could happen.

@Twisted, don't know if you've seen this yet on your trip to China, so this is spoiler-ridden.... look away now!

This episode smashed it... I though Episode 9 would be hard to beat... personally I thought Episode 10 blew it out of the water... and the keynote episode of Season 3 - The Red Wedding.

There was a sense of predictability about Episode 9, even though it rocked. This one blew the roof off the joint IMO.

I'm weak and read about it on yahoo. Just couldn't help myself. I tried everything possible to watch it here but China's wacky rules and not being able to watch on HBO Go prevented it.

Sounds absolutely incredible and I'm kicking myself for not being able to wait

I recorded the whole season on the DVR and waited until I could watch it over a couple of days rather than waiting each week. Wow.

Outstanding final episode. Aaaaaryah! Love that girl! Lethal.

I've come the conclusion that George R R Martin is never going to write another book. He's changed so many things in the series, it really wouldn't make sense anymore

Finally saw it yesterday. Still kicking myself for being too weak to wait. It was still great even despite knowing all that happened. The whole beginning scenes with the destruction of the sept were especially awesome. Cersei enjoying "the show" with a nice glass of wine. Vintage and completely messed up! Safe to say I don't think she is long for the throne.
