So it was Jojen Reed's father who knifed Ser Arthur Dayne in the back.

They did talk about his father being a close a close friend of Ned in an earlier episode... I guess we now know how close... he basically saved his life and kept the secret.

That scene with young Ned vs. Ser Arthur Dayne was awesome. I don't think they've mentioned Dayne on the show much but he gets mentioned in the books a lot as being probably the best swordsman along with Barristan Selmy and maybe Jaime. And now we see why Ned was able to "beat" him.

Are you finding you prefer the show even more now that it's moved on from the timeline in the books. More suspense?

Yes I would say so. Though I didn't read past Season 3 of the show there was some of it that was spoiled like some of the main events of season 4. Now it's good to know that there aren't really any spoilers left since its ahead of the books.

Another slightly slower episode today but definitely with a sense that we are gearing up for some big confrontations down the line. I'll wait for you to indicate that you've seen it before spoilers.

Agreed. It is setting up for some nice fireworks in Winterfell and King's Landing. Also that was one awesome final scene last night.

I loved this episode. And I'm not just saying tits because Dany was naked. Might have made a typo in the previous sentence.

Yeah, a big twist in the tale at the end! A lot of t's crossed and i's dotted in this episode - lots of stuff beginning to make sense... and open up a new dimension on the powers some of the characters have.

^ Damn, that is quite the transformation. The actor who played the Hound looks quite a bit different but that's not too surprising.
