Looks incredible, why does it have to be 6 full months away??

Fire and Ice seems to be the topic of the day. I'm guessing the Lannister family get crushed in the middle of a bigger picture playing out.

Was this the most iconic segment from Season 6 (and there were plenty)? I loved it because I wasn't expecting it at all.

Agreed, I am sure Cersei's reign is not going to last too long. It will be interesting to see what comes of Jaime though and how involved Tyrion is in the proceedings.

I can see a major plotline between Tyrion and Jaime developing on that front... and Jaime's fate ultimately lying with Tyrion. Tyrion will be torn between the brother he loved, who was his only real ally for much of his life and the brother who has sworn to kill him, the defeated enemy.

As great as it looks, this is a fan-made trailer. A bunch of really-well edited clips.

I agree it will be a huge part of the action but there is another factor here (and I hope it's not a spoiler) in that part of Cersei's premonition in the books is that she will die at the hands of one of her younger brothers (I think it may have been mentioned on the show). Obviously everyone would think it's Tyrion but this is GOT so you almost expect it to be Jaime. And given Cersei has become more and more unhinged it's not difficult to see a scenario where she purposely jeopardizes/targets the innocents which could cause Jaime to turn against her.

I actually don't see Tyrion being torn between Jaime and serving Dany, he will want Jaime to survive and perhaps ultimately thrive. I'm more interested to see how Jaime acts towards Tyrion, as he said he'd like to kill Tyrion after he killed their father. I think he might still feel that way but would never bring himself to do it if he has the opportunity and eventually they may be reconciled to a degree.

You might be onto something with the Jaime/Cersei dimension. The look on Jaime's face when Cersei was crowned...

Jaime's transformation from his character in Season 1 to where he is now, has been great viewing.

Agreed, that's why I'd say he's the best character on the show though not necessarily my favorite (that's a tough one to decide on). In GOT what we thought is bad (Jaime) is actually good, but terribly conflicted between doing the right thing and his duties to his family and the realm. And what we think is good (the Starks) is often recklessly naive and stupid.

While on the subject of Cersei's likely demise it got me thinking about how the zombified Mountain is going to go down. I'd imagine that the Mountain will have to die (for real this time) before Cersei. It's tough picturing it being anything but one of the dragons taking that beast down.

I still reckon they might get a plot line from the Hound to do with the Mountain... but as tough as the Hound is, I can't see him beating his brother... so maybe one of the dragons does the business..

it was great viewing..

i think if anything Jaime may be the only one among the ''north/south'' kingdom ''adults" that had the almost naive ''good" -

obedient to the idea of the father about family - even if misguided..
tried to use diplomacy between family and the mad king he had to murder
love "for a hateful woman| - and actually a one-woman man (until brienne brings in a different view) while cercei thinks nothing of playing around..
all those things done for the stark girls
his children...

"roguis on the outside" - but actually soft inside. kind of ''good".

loved the scene on cercei succeeding in blowing up the citadel though. lol. hated those sparrow crazies..which - like the ''god with many faces" in ways turns otu to be a power-lust of its own really behind the ''self-negation and purification" preaching...u know power posing as purity...

but how does the 'red woman " -- who still clings to the god of light business BUT many of her assumptions have been shaken? and isnt that new priestess scheming to have power over the mother of dragons a future element in this?

i guess the dragon fire - god of light -- will clash - and then clash also with cercei - and then they all clash still with the still untold powers of Brandon stark as the transformed all-seeing power -

and it all clashes with the ice-men? and yet again -- will the ''first children" who created the ice-men -- to stop MEN from cutting down the magical trees -- play a big role through all these?

Still pissed off that it's such a long wait. It was supposed to be in June at first, still 3.5 months away. Madness.

Can't wait for it of course but that was an underwhelming trailer. I'm not worried though, it's going to be epic

Predictions on how this might unfold?

So, Dany has already reached out to Dorne via Varys. Looks like that alliance is a done deal. The Dornish had already formed an alliance with the Tyrells (Marjorie's family) and Dany had already formed an alliance with the Greyjoys.

That leaves the Starks in the North who are already marching on Kings Landing... alllied with the Vale and Tullys...

Will Dany ally with John Snow/Stark? Based on the last season, it's pretty safe to say that John's mother was Ned Stark's sister and his father was Rheagon Targaryen (Dany's older brother)... making Dany, John's Aunt. I'm thinking Bran lets John know this before they come to blows.

That leaves the Lannisters v Everybody.

I'm guessing some storyline will play out where Tyrion saves Jamie in some way... or maybe Arya uses a dead Jamie's face to get close to Cersei and kills her.

There will probably be some devious subplot involving Littlefinger and Sansa, but I don't think that will derail the main story too much.

Season 7 will end with Dany on the throne, and the final season will be about Dany v The Ice King beyond the wall. There's the fire and ice connection with the books.
