who will have to pick up the slack at the u.s. open if roger continues to be hampered by a bad back?

The response is quite simple. JMDP. he had a very good Wimbledon and he came back in form at Washington. I hope he paces himself and skip Cincy if he will be tired after Montreal. remember, that is what he did in 2009, when he was gassed in the final in Montreal and 3 weeks later he was able to lift the trophy.

Yes herois. I think JMDP will be quite a threat at USO. He has been progressively playing very good tennis.

I also agree. And no one remembers better how well JMDP can do at the USO than Rafa and Roger fans. ;)

I agree, But, he is no slouch on clay either. Recall that
he almost took out Fed in 2009 in FO, but ran out of gas.

2009 must be Del Potro best year yet. This year he is doing better than last year. We might just be in for a three way rivalry.

affirmative. the gods themselves wrote the prophesy in the stars. it was revealed at the castle of course.

there was nothing that was going to get in the way of the great highlander at Wimbledon this year.

the decimation and near total destruction of the opposition in the final was swift, methodical, and simply devastating.

Good point, tented, and I definitely agree that JMDP has been gradually getting better over the last year. He just won DC, and is perfectly poised to do very we in the heaving-hitting part of the No. Am. HC swing. Watch out!

I am not expecting much from the clay warrior during the remainder of this year general sid.

I think he comes back to do monster damage in 2014. he has to be inspired by andy`s success this year.

Hurc i've a feeling that Nadal will play Nole @ Montreal, then he might take it easy till the USO.I do feel that the top tennis players are now looking @ how to handel the hole year more so,in the past thay would not so much.

So what happens to Murray? I was thinking Nadal wouldn't even make it that far! He was struggling eqarly on with some guy I'd never heard of! We'll see though!

Are you saying that Murray was struggling with a guy you'd never heard of? Granollers just won Kitzbuhel last week. Murray had rust, but Granollers was in confident form. And Nadal demolished Levine.

I've frankly been surprised by him. I thought he was a second-tier Spaniard with a good doubles game. He's a bit more than that. Now I think he could wander around in the Top 20-30 singles. He's ranked 5, in think, in doubles, and it has been good for his singles game.
