Which is more prestigious tourney? Doha or Dubai? I forgot and too lazy to look up.

But, I think neither is mandatory.

I am really glad that ATP came up with their scheme of 1000, 500 and 250 tourneys making
it much easier on the casual fans. While I am not a casual fan of ATP, I don't pay much attention
to smaller WTA tourneys and so am asking.

It gets confusing for me too. According to Wiki, there are the Premier Mandatory, Premier Five and Premier events. There are nine Premier Mandatory and Premier Five events all together so those are their equivalents of the Masters 1000 I guess.

The WTa should just set it up like the ATP and make it easy to understand.

There are many nonsensical things about the WTA. It should just copy the ATP which is much more well thought out. I think Dubai has higher prestigious than Doha

So, will Venus defend her title in Doha or is she foregoing that this year?

Venus is defending the Dubai title. Halep won Doha. These 2 tournaments switched category Premier 5 to Premier.

Wait. So Dubai is Premier 5 and Doha is Premier now?

Well I correctly predicated the q/finalists results....,

My predictions for the s/finals,

Pliskova v Muguruza...both ladies have never been to a s/final of a Premier tournament before.Last time they met was 2 years ago at Roland Garos,Muguruza won in a closely contested match.I expect their s/final match to be close, impressed by both ladies so far in this tournament, though I think Pliskova will have the edge this time over Murguruza,as long as she brings her 1st serve and fhand,I also think she has a stronger bhand than Murguruza.

Halep v Woznicacki...h2h 1 all...last time they played was in 2013.Halep won her match against Makarova on her fifth MP,Wozniacki, reeled off eight games in a row from 5 all in the 1st set,to run away with the match against Pennetta.

Woznicacki has improved since her first match, where she was sick and also had knee problems,Halep had to call on everything in her match, especially when she was serving for the match,at least she had the fight in her this time, not like at the AO,Wozniacki fights till the last point,I am tipping Wozniacki to win in a close match.

I hope for a Mugu Woz final! Im thinking the other two will win.

BTW both players have had 10 double faults so far in this match.Pliskova double faulting at a crucial time in the match, hence giving the 2nd set to Muguruza.

Taken from Karolina Pliskova's press conference after her match against Garbine Muguruza

"I feel amazing,I really didn't expect to get to the final here," Pliskova said."We both have great serves,so it's always going o be tough to break, even if you have 0-30 or 0-40,it dosen't mean anything until you get that final point.I put everything into my serve to get that final game."

From the WTA website 20th February.

And then her father has to come on the court to blow the second set. In my opinion.
