Now it seems it is Caroline's turn to not play well, too many ufe from Caroline so far in this 2nd set, which by her standards is very unusual.Halep with the double break leads 3-0

Caroline breaks back,on serve in the 3rd set

Which "necessitates" her father coming out again to lead her to getting broken.

Caroline rushing her shots, making too many ufe, that has been her downfall in this final set

Halep to serve for the match and a place in the final 5-1

62 16 16 and Caroline is out. Well not easy to keep a high level of play when your not feeling well - and Caroline didn't today. First set was ok and she had a pretty good level of play, but you could feel the difference when she started second set. No energi, no sparkle it's just a question of getting over this match and back to bed. She should retire from Doha to be completely fit. We saw what you could Caroline in first set - but all your favorite shots didn't like you today - especially the backhand was out many times where it normally is the precision itself. So be well and come back strong as we know you, but thank you for the bagels this week

I was predicting a Kliskova Halep final. I think Pliskova wins the title. She can be the future rival to Keys. Mugu does not have the mentality to be at the very top.

Yes, when Caroline loses 1 and 1 you know something is wrong, even against a player as good as Halep.

I hope she rests and recovers, and comes back healthy in time for IW. (Agree about skipping Doha.)

I saw the last few minutes of Woz Halep. Woz was eager to get off the court. Too aggressive instead of being consistent as she usually is. Too bad she is not feeling well. I hope she recovers quickly and shows up in IW healthy

Woz is not starting this year as a continuation of 2014. Things are not looking good.

I've just read that Garbine made 9 double faults in the first set but later she was doing much better.
Next Monday she will be the 20 in the Ranking, not bad

So far Keys is just another American who happened to make it to a Grand Slam semi, only to fade away. Of course we still have to see what Keys does after this but talking about her being a rival for anyone is a pit premature.

Too bad for Woz but Halep really turned it on. Hope she takes the title now.

I have to disagree....'only to fade away' Madison saves many MPs in that 3rd set and made Serena serve out the match? that dosent mean 'fade away' in my books
One factor that impressed me with Madison was the way she held her nerve in that tournament, she has just turned 20 years of age,I have followed her since she first started the tour. Also with Davenport as her coach,to me that is a match made in heaven, when I first saw Madison play she reminded me of Davenport in so many ways.Madison also has improved her overall court movement since she has hooked up with Davenport.Madison would have to have one of the best fhands at present in the womens game. She is just learning to play with more controlled aggression on both wings. Her serve is also a big asset.

Halep v Pliskova

This will be the first time these 2 player's have met.

I am picking Pliskova,Halep dosent fare too well against big strong servers.Pliskova plays a aggressive game, she is strong off both wings,if she brings her serve and her ground shots to this final,to me she will have too much power off the ground for Halep. One thing that impressed me with Pliskova in her match against Muguruza, when she was serving for the match and was down 3BPs came back strong to win the match, her serve of course helped her.

I worded it a bit weird but I wasn't implying that Keys has faded away already. I was thinking of the other Americans when I typed that. But I really don't care what she did or how she lost in the semifinal to Serena. I've seen too many of these "next American stars" only to see them fail one after another. I truly hope she can break through because she is very exiting to watch. But until she does something at the other tournaments and can be consistent, she is just another flash in the pan. Again, hoping she isn't.

A 19 year old player making a s/final of a Grand Slam tournament,to me that is impressive, also taking her game to one of The Greatest Woman Players In The History of our game in Serena Williams? again to me impressive.

Madison has easy scary power off both wings,of course going forward 'consistency is the key' in future tournaments.
