I am guessing Woz's performance here will make her and her dad question whether she should have another coach.

How is that? My logic tells me that her new coach may be the reason for her success here.
Her dad tried all he could until the new coach came and she went backwards. If I had to find a reason for her semi final in coaching, then I would have gave credit to the new coach, not to her dad.
Technically and mentally it was a good move to have another coach with new ideas.

The new coach is not with Woz at this tournament. He will coach at Indian Wells, but her dad is coaching her here. She is playing with more confidence so I assume she must be feeling comfortable. This might get them thinking that they do not need a coach. I am not saying I agree. Woz does need someone other than her dad, but I would not be surprised if this coach does not last long.

I don't know why you keep saying this. Michael Mortensen has been there all the time in Dubai. He's the technical coach and together they put down a tactic before every match and Piotr is the one who is coaching on court. I actually think that this combination works and we saw many things proving that yesterday. If you didn't see the match use my link on page 8. Once again the new coach is there and coaching. And if you look in the players box he is sitting next to Piotr.

Ruhroh. Piotr came out on the change of ends. Caro isn't playing badly, Venus is better. Venus serving for the set 5-2

On a host of errors, Caro breaks 5-3. The problem has been holding though

Lets not forget Piotr got Caro to #1

And got her to #12... He did both ;)
I feel "new life" in Caro in Dubai, maybe just my imagination, we shell see.

Weren't that a lot of peoples sentinents after Indian Wells last year?!

I will watch a few more tournies before I say there is "new life."

I stepped away when it was 4-4. Well, if Serena is going to mount a comeback it would need to start in the next couple of min otherwise, I see Venus winning her first title in more than a year.

It was a positive event for Caro, she got to the semis, which is better than her rankings.
As for new life, I dunno, lets see how she performs in the double 1000 pointers, hard courts are suppose to be her best surface.

She'd done this before and fell short. But that was a long time ago.
Alize gets an early break in the second set, only to see it gone, back on serve at 3-3

4 match points save by Serena, she had a difficult time holding her serve in the 9th game of second set.
Ahead 5-4, Alize will serve for the match.

I love to watch Serena fight when she's down. Cornet will have to serve for it.
