Tiafoe is not that good, I am afraid. At best, he could be like Ferrer. I like the fact that he is a fighter, but his game is very limited.
If he would be another Ferrer that would be great.
But Ferrer was a very steady player, Frences is nothing like that.

KK bags the first set.

Looks like we have only Fedovic and the two Russians left to watch in this tourney.

Some tricky serving there at BP/SP from Nicky.

Nick got a little massage on his calf and has been a different man ever since. I'll be waiting for the complaint about "gamesmanship."

KK has played a terrible TB. Including terrible since he threw away his serve.

I've heard comparisons with Safin, but I don't see any finesse in the Khachanov game.

Karen wins the 2nd set TB. Nick has been chuntering away at the umpire all set. Got a code violation for swearing, then went off court and broke two racquets off-court. He's got a point penalty for swearing, and now a time violation. Nick is going mad now.

Fergus Murphy is holding it together as well as anyone might, but Nick is abusing him. He's going to get fined for breaking those racquets, and he's trodding on shaky ground now. Silent K is another one who seems to be holding his own in the eye of Super-Storm Nick.

It should have been a game penalty for breaking the rackets. Honestly though this is truly hilarious. Kyrgios taping his racket only halfway on the court. Then with the tape hanging off his racket he claims he is ready to return.

Courier said that, too...that he should have lost the game. And KK is in trouble on his serve here, so I think he's not unaffected by the circus.

This is the kind of thing where Nick makes a mockery of normal behavior, and everyone else is trying to abide by the rules and norms. Sure, the ump could have told KK to go ahead and serve, with Nick's racquet half-taped, but then chaos would reign. It's unfair to Khachanov, if you ask me. Folks talk about gamesmanship, but this is it, in the extreme.

And when Nick DF's it away, he didn't shake the ump's hand but called him a "fucking tool." Audibly, on TV. That's going to be expensive. And all of his misbehavior and disgruntlement seemed self-manufactured.
