Hard to believe Zverev never won here. Hard to believe the guy he lost to won here for the first time this year.

It's just hard to defend; said the same about Roger! He miraculously took another AO, but we knew he'd never come close to '17 when he won IW/Miami double! He was fortunate to make 1 final; hence he's #2 and not #1! Sasha is coming on, but nowhere near consistent enough to defend a Masters at this point! How many have Nadal repeated at on HC? NONE and he's supposed to be one of the handful of GOAT's! :nono:  :banghead:

He's not talking about winning this tournament, he's saying Sasha has never won a match in Cincy, but Haase (his opponent) won a match for the first time here today.

We have arrived to that period of the season, when usually Zverev starts to play worse and he pretty much becomes irrelevant.

Anyone seen Novak play today? Was it any good? Kind of worried for the us open. Weird considering his record and coming in as the Wimbledon champ, but he seems vulnerable.

Everyone's vulnerable IMO! It's that time of the year, energy being conserved by some, apathy by others, and in the case of NOLE, supreme pressure since this is the last Masters needed to complete the circle winning 9 of the 9 at least once! That's just under his accomplishment with completing his Nole-Slam (CGS)! I know people hate the term, but "haters gonna hate" since Fedal won't have a chance to match it! All have something that sets them apart from the others! Nadal has bragging rights with a CGS, OG in singles, the most titles at the FO, DC's, & at the moment the lead in Masters' titles! For Roger, he has a CGS, the most titles at Wimbl., OG in doubles, a Davis Cup, leads the majors' race, and holds most of the important records dealing with consistency & longevity! Djokovic may rank # 3 or #4 all time, but he's made his mark with his own records that may or may not ever be broken! He has his own CGS (w/ Nole-Slam), leads, ties, or is just behind Fedal with other records, a DC, and on the verge of some serious immortality if he can get this Cincy title! It's no big deal for Roger w/ 6 or 7 of them, the same dynamics was going on w/ his FO; more huge to him than Nadal holding multiple chps! This is just OTTH and rambling! :yesyes:

Canadian presidential elections in next round.

Shapo for president!

I guess Canada does not have a president.

@DarthFed Hey. Are you and the missus watching the pinup doll trying to stick it to Djoker? :lol6:

Nah, we almost saw Cilic lose which would've been nice. Then saw Mcfly send Paire back to 1955. Both were actually better matches than expected. Not surprised your pinup doll gave Djoker problems, this is the best surface for him to be a nuissance. We were about to set eyes on Giorgi but the rain started (and continues). Giorgi is getting brutalized by Keys so far but I'm sure she still looks great in defeat B-)

I'm here with my brother, the missus doesn't care much for sports. She does like the looks of Stefanos and his dad so we will hopefully have a long and bright future rooting for the young hero.

Federer's not the only person he had to beat to win Cincy in 2013. And he did, anyway, so suck it. Indoor HC is his worst surface, not 'slick grass', (which I don't think is an official surface ;),) and you know it. Outdoors, he has the highest win pct on tour, or has had most of his career.
Probably. It's 5-3 Deuce in the third if only Federer knew how to use Hawkeye.

Sasha is not defending Cincy. He was trying to defend his Canada title and did not succeed.

Did Kyrgios tank the second set? I did not see the match, but the score line makes me think so.

I did not see the match today, but in his first match against Kudla, he hardly moved at all. He was just bombing serves one after the other.
He grimaced mimicking pain in his knee when he made a few steps.
Hard to play against someone like him, one moment he looks injured ready to retire the next he fires 4 aces in a row.
