I saw that Hawkeye error. It's worth remembering that there is a margin of error, but best that we all just accept it.

That is the point. Hawkeye margin of error is from three to four millimeters (around 0,15 inches), and that was easily ten times more than that.

It was. But what does that say about Hawkeye? I don't think anyone wants to start doubting it, but that was really weird.

Yes, count me among those who do not want to doubt it, but... after that I do not think I have choice. I was thinking maybe that was the wrong mark but it seemed to me that the umpire agreed that was the one, right?

Yes, but the umpire doesn't get to overrule Hawkeye, I guess. Anyway, this is why they don't use Hawkeye on clay, where the margin of error is bigger.

I think the umpire should be allowed to overturn the Hawk-eye call, if it is clearly wrong. Sort of like NFL's play call can be overturned if it is incontrovertibly proved wrong during the review.

What is going on with the cámaras today? watching on Tennis Channel first at all it doesn’t show the score, I only hear the Umpire saying the result and then when the player is serving they don’t show the the full court so I can’t see the opponent returning, only the ball coming back, very weird

Things are still 10 times better than in the past when tourneys were pulling people out of the stands to call lines while others were literally falling asleep in their chairs! It's a lot more professional except that the players are more gregarious and rude! :yesyes:   o_O

Actually, I think the players are LESS rude, with the Hawkeye, don't you?

All I got is a rerun of Kyrgios/Kudla on TC. Where are you watching the match?

It's challenging of calls when the ball is obviously a mile out that ticks me off! Nadal does it, Murray, & even Roger! It's boorish!

You know why they do it.It is like taking a time out. If you need time to regroup, people routinely call for challenge especially if they have many left to burn.

I well know why they do it! I think the refs need to keep these matches going! It's an athletic event and these guys need to keep it moving! If that happens, maybe they'll end before 3 hours! Nole was using his challenges like that and it cost him in his Wimbledon match against Querrey a couple years ago! When he needed a challenge on a couple bad calls, he had none to spend and that started his spiral out of the top 10!  :banghead:

I was wrongly under the impression that Fed plays Lucas in the next round. Lucas apparently lost today and Fed shall play Meyer. I think the opp became easier one.

I don't think Mayer is an easy opponent. He has a good serve and hits very flat.
