I haven't been following this tournament much, but I see the ATP has rolled out the red carpet for Rafa once again... I mean, how much easier can they make his path to a big title? No Roger, Novak, or Andy; no Stan or Cilic; Zverev goes out early; even Muller folds before meeting him.
Go Grigor!
"Rolled out the red carpet for Rafa once again...??" OK, I know you're kidding. But, hey, for all the times that Rafa's been out injured, doesn't he deserve one like this? I will admit I'm nervous for him, though. If he doesn't take advantage of this, I don't know what. This is the perfect opportunity to go into the USO feeling quite chuffed about himself. Newly minted #1 again. I don't want to jinx it, but it may as well be said. He really should win this tournament, and he's not one to pass up his opportunities very often. Root for Dimitrov as you must, but I'll be biting my fingernails and wearing my lucky shirt until Sunday. :devilfinger:I haven't been following this tournament much, but I see the ATP has rolled out the red carpet for Rafa once again... Monte Carlo is designed to be the weakest...it's not required. What is that about, btw? Has anyone ever explained that it's a MS 1000, but not required?Yeah, a bunch of the Masters have been really weak this year - not only Cincy and Montreal, but Monte Carlo may have been weakest.
It is really frustrating, but roofs are expensive. Tennis is a sport beholden to the elements. It's also a sport with no time-line. Patience is our watch word, as tennis fans. Who else would watch a 5-hour match? Well, maybe those cricket fans have it on us.Can't this rain, like, fu€k off???
I am on the verge of ripping my hair out, follicle by follicle. How difficult is it to have a roof over the centre court, at least?
Goodness.
If I had a saying in that kind of decision, I would ban all roofless venues, regardless of the status and climate/location.
Nature bests mankind once more... Well, at least the Americans... No offense to anyone, I had to vent.
I wasn't hidden, I was just bored to death reading some posters complaining about the "conditions" of the grass in Wimbledon until.........never mind
Any word if they're going to play matches tonight?
Just saw this question. I hate to say that I think the answer is no. Today, his fitness got him, and it's a drag, but between his wrists, his lack of a stinging BH, his lack of consistency and fitness, I don't think it seems that he will ever come back to the potential that he had. And it's a bloody shame. Bad luck.Does anyone actually think Delpo will ever do anything big again? His current iteration (2016-17) is a shadow of the shadow (2012-13) of his best self (2009). It is a sad story.
The attached file is barely legible. Is Nadal's match slated for 1 pm? If so, I should be able to watch itOrder of Play for Third Round and QF Friday, August 18, 2017
