Does anyone actually think Delpo will ever do anything big again? His current iteration (2016-17) is a shadow of the shadow (2012-13) of his best self (2009). It is a sad story.
Delpo looked promising last summer with wins over Djok and Nadal (both of whom were not anywhere near their best) but then the DC win over Murray.
Since then,no. Seems to be very limited slice BH he uses almost all the time for the obvious reasons--though just once I saw him lace into a genuine two-handed BH and rip it. But only once!
It looks like he's made his peace with not being a top player again, I heard an interview where he pretty said it outright. Just happy to be playing.

No he will not go the top again.

Nadal v. Ramos Viñolas/Kyrgios v. Karlovic play at the same time, then the winners have to play again end of day. It's as fair as it can be.

Wild idea to make it even fairer: make all remaining players play an extra match today (outcome will not affect the draw) to make it totally fair. I'm kidding, but why not?
If Rafa beats ARV (and he bloody well better) then has to play Kyr or Karl at 9 tonight, he will be very tired for Thiem tomorrow, and that becomes a danger match. I say Thiem--kit could be Ferrer--but I doubt it. Thiem's stock goes down on HC though, it's true.

Wimb, for a slam, was eqaully easy for Fed. Lame Raonic, usual berd, then Bird with blisters.

If only he played the world beater Gilles Muller I'm sure that'd have been the end of Fed  you also forgot he faced Dimitrov in the fourth round and even a dangerous match vs Mischa Zverev in the 3rd (a guy who plays a little like the mighty Muller)

Fed's Wimbledon path of four top 15 players was a lot harder than Rafa's RG especially since Stan totally wet the bed in the final after a marathon semi. Cilic sucked for sure but so did Stan, making the final a formality for both players.

Stan? are you kidding me? he was healthy, he played really well but his opponent didn't let him to breathe, it was a massacre with big letters

I haven't been following this tournament much, but I see the ATP has rolled out the red carpet for Rafa once again...:D I mean, how much easier can they make his path to a big title? No Roger, Novak, or Andy; no Stan or Cilic; Zverev goes out early; even Muller folds before meeting him.

Go Grigor! :lol3:
"They" didn't make his path easy--Djok Murray Stan Cilic and Roger all out. The only extra one in Montreal was Rgoer

I have retired from Fedal arguments, but I will comment on draws. Stan and Thiem are the two best clay players after Rafa right now, and that's who he beat, effortlessly.
And that's the last I will say on things like this. Find it really tiresome.

But then they's still double load them, right?

Welcome fellow Rafa fan! Pardon me if I don't join in too often on Fedal fights, after 10 years I'm so so tired of it.
On my previous site some innocent Fed fans were posting stats most unflattering to Fed and that became quite interesting!
But trust I have logged 1 million words on the subject.

Thanks. Glad to see another Fedal-exhausted Rafa fan--hard not to react! More interesting to talk about Rafa though. Hate his double duty today, but what can you do.
If it's Kyrgios later, his (Kyrgios's) body should start imploding on him. if it doesn't, he's done some great faking lately, re hip and shoulder.

Stan played well in that final? Are you joking right now...I take it back as I sadly know you aren't joking. It's alright to admit when your favorite player's opponent plays weak. One day maybe you'll be capable of doing that...maybe

Kyrgios doesn't like to lose at all (and he really doesn't win too much) so he always has some kind of problem here and there, head to toe ;-):

They were the best on clay this year by default as Nole and Murray were terrible all season. As for grass I'd say Cilic was the 2nd best this year. And that didn't stop him from sucking in the final like Stan did at RG. Raonic and Berd have made Wimbledon finals before which is something Thiem has not done at RG.

Who exactly this season was going to challenge Fed at Wimbledon? He caught a slight break with Djokovic losing but make no mistake that Roger would've been the heavy favorite in that semi. Similar with RG, Djoker losing the QF was only a slight break for Rafa as clearly Novak wasn't going to seriously challenge him if that was the semi but it'd have still been a more worrisome match than Thiem.

Yeah, we need him to win this tourney. And the next one. Huge opp right now, probably will never come again, so many of the top ones out.
