According to my maths, someone can correct me if I am wrong here.

Neither Simona or Petra can catch Serena,if she loses early in Beijing and YEC.The only person that can finish as No 1,other than Serena is Maria who has no points to defend, but she has to win Beijing and YEC,Serena has to lose early in both for that to happen.
If Serena wins Beijing, she will clinch year No 1 immediately.

I think you are wrong. Serena has 2000 points more then Petra. If Serena loses early in both then Petra can surpass her. She can have 1000 points for Beijing and 1500 points for YEC. Apart from that Petra is scheduled to play Moscow which is another 470 points. She can gain almost 3000 points. Even if you won't count her 100 points for Eastboune and 105 points for Montreal it's still 2765 points.

That's of course theory. Serena will not loose everything and Petra will not win everything.

Hmm I will redo my maths...your talking theory...regarding the no 1 spot for the year
I still maintain that if Serena wins Beijing she will clinch the no 1 position for the year.
I will get back to you,it is too late for me to re do maths at the moment

Yes that's correct. If Serena wins Beijing she will gain at least another 350 point to Masha and would lead by 1602 points. That is unsurmountable in YEC. Masha would have to receive a WC in another tourney to be able to beat her.

2 wins in a row and I am happy now. I hope it releases her stress, gives confidence, and relaxes her before R3.
If she is in good mental health then there is no reason not to beat Petka.

Well Tented you know how I feel about the men - I don't give a f..k -

A lot of people on this site do care about the men, which is also why I list both.

An idea of when things goes on - look at the estimated times on my list.

Estimated times in tennis are useless, IMO, since matches can last anywhere from a few minutes, to several hours.

I heard Patrick is on his way to Beijing because he feels Serena needs him there.

I would agree with him. Yesterday she seemed really emotional and unsure of herself.

Flavia's slump continues. She should do 2 things:
-dump Fabio
-continue her doubs w/ MH

I see while I was slumbering, Venus came through in straights. Tomorrow we'll have the rematch of CSN/Masha from the summer HC. CSN sent Maria home last time, can she duplicate that effort? I'm thinking not this time. Maria in straights.

Serena comes through over Piro (the grass court specialist) 6-2 6-3. She played better today, but still a little inconsistent on the groundies.

Patrick will be there for Patrick....he likes the attention that comes with Serena a bit too much.I hope Serena reminds him that she is the star not him...;)
