Petra breaks at 15 after falling behind an early break in the first set.
1-2 and Petra shall serve.
Finally a good stream via ESPN:

Still raining and temperature even lower - now 11 c!

Good luck Caroline

Well shouldn't be today though - lost 46 67 to Stosur who found her game in the right moment and Caroline was too "pale" with too many errors - so is tennis not always good to the fans:nono

3 of the BYE's are gone only one survivor Kvitova.

First blood to Sammy. Takes the opener 6-4. Caro will need to dig deep now

I imagine exhaustion played a part in her loss. She's been going non-stop.

If Halep/Olaru win they're supposed to play later same day against Black/Mirza. Funny.
And playing on Moon vs Petko sucks, there's no hawk-eye.

Moon is televised but you'll need to find a stream I think.

Um, Kvitova is the Wimbledon champion!

So, no, Halep doesn't deserve to be on big court more than Petra.

V.Williams v Kvitova is a rematch of their Wimbledon match earlier this year, which was a great match, all their previous encounter's have gone to 3 sets.I feel the officials have made the right decision putting this match on the main stadium court.I am saying that with respect to the Halep v Petkovic match.

I agree. Williams/Kvitova not only has the potential to be a great match, based on their head-to-head history, but it also features this year's Wimbledon winner playing a multiple Wimbledon winner, who's one of the WTA's most famous names. While Halep is ranked higher than both Venus and Kvitova, she doesn't carry the star power to justify choosing her over the others. At least not yet.

No one is ever going to be completely satisfied with a tournament's scheduling and court assignments. Some fans will be pleased, others will be upset. But the fact is that not everyone can play on center court (at least in the early stages of a tournament, of course), therefore some matches must be assigned to other courts. To increase ticket sales and to make it easier for TV broadcasters to cover the matches with the most popular appeal, they put them on center court, in order to be certain they don't overlap.

BTW The completed teams have been announced for the Hopman Cup in 2015 which runs from the 4th January till the 10th January. It is on the General Tennis Talk Forum.
Serena will be playing with Jack Sock for the USA.I think it is a good move by Serena to play the Hopman Cup next year, than defending her Brisbane title.

OK guys, I need to hear the justification as to why Sam vs Cornet (both not seeded) and Ivanovic [9] vs Lisicki get the 2nd court while Halep [2] vs Petko [15] is on the 3rd with no hawk-eye. I never said anything about the center court, Petra vs Venus could be a great match as is Serena vs Safarova. Seriously.

^ That I can't justify. Had I made the schedule, I would have put Halep/Petkovic on "Lotus" court, and moved Cornet/Stosur to "Moon" court.

I don't give a crap about the number of the court really, could've been #77 I don't care as long as it has hawk-eye. It's bullshit.

The schedule is all messed up because of rain, if it rains another day, it'll get worse.
They will be lucky if they finish everything they scheduled.

Well right now I'm hoping for a typhoon taking away the roof from court #1.
