Another fine match just finished Petkovic loses to Halep after a match which brought the best and the worst up in the players - LOTS of UFE but also lots of winners and a lot of intense fighting. Me thinks Halep has found her self again and will be a good contender in Singapore - well done ladies:clap:clap

And another hard fought match has ended Ana Ivanovic defeats Sabine Lisicki in a good match with lots of breaks in the second set so big credit to Sabine:clap:clap

Just read that news.I think Halep made the correct decision, she picked up that injury in her previous match, she struggled at times in her match against Petkovic.I hope she will be fit and healthy for Singapore.

Thank you Svetlana well played and well fought - good match btw. :clap:clap:clap

@geniebouchard, @ARadwanska , @CaroWozniacki and @AnaIvanovic have all now qualified for Singapore

I've always liked her, so this is good news.

Now she faces Sharapova.

Who does everyone think will win that? I'm pulling for Kuznetsova.
Sveta generally plays well in Beijing but constantly folds against pova...

Not sure what happened there. Maybe he is laid up in his hotel sick? I mean everyone else is getting sick or injured in China why not coaches.

Sad to see Halep injured. Let's hope she goes to Singapore healthy.

I think it will be Pova vs Ana with Ana getting to the final.

The reason so many players get sick in Asia is because their immune systems are not used to the bacterial strains there. The way to avoid getting sick is to ingest only thoroughly cooked food and filtered water.

I honestly hope we dont see any of the top 8 woman get these type of virus's when they compete at the YEC in Singapore, that also includes the top 8 doubles players. All these women have worked hard all year to qualify,it would be a pity if they arent at their best to compete.

That sounds about right 10ns. It'll be interesting to see how many players continue to go to Asia over the next 5 years if they constantly get ill. I remember when Serena & Venus didn't play the Asian swing at all. They used to shut it down after the USO.

Is anyone looking forward to Serena/Stosur again? I'm having a hard time generating any excitement for that one. (Or any match involving Stosur, really.)

I would love to see a Petra v Serena s/final at Beijing,I know I am getting ahead of myself, still I am wary of the knee wrap for Serena at this present stage.

When I was playing around with the draw before the tournament started.I had penned in a Serena v Ana final.

No press conference for Serena Williams after three-set win. Released statement saying left knee is swollen, hopes it goes down overnight.

Well well maybe it's another withdrawal - then you have Stosur in a semi well well:nono
