Ahh he just doesn't deserve credit when he beats your boy?

In the last 13 months or so Djokovic has won 2 of his last 4 meetings with Federer. Murray has won 3 of his last 4 meetings with Federer and he leads their h2h.

Murray last played Nadal nearly 2 years ago. Andy won in Tokyo 2011. Since then Andy has won 2 slams and Olympic gold. Who will win when they meet again? I have no clue. Let's wait and see.

nole actually had the easiest draw at Wimbledon.

he also declared that he fresh, fit, and ready before the final.

the fact of the matter is this: andy took his will away. that can tire you in a hurry. mentally, emotionally, and physically.

same nole said before his semi against nadal at RG that he was "ready to play for 6 hours". he also predicted a win against nadal.

people are going to have realize sooner or later that both andy and nadal have major game.

nadal will be a lot better on the red clay next year than he was this year. he wont be coming back from a 7 month layoff.

and andy has conquered his demons. now he knows he belongs among the top guns.

Novak had the easiest draw when it came out. Andy's draw opened up - absolutely no doubt about that BUT he still had to beat the world no.1 to win the title.

The date was 7/7 and Andy was playing in his 7th slam final. He was trying to prevent Novak winning his 7th slam. It had been 77 years since Fred Perry had won Wimbledon. Virginia Wade last won in '77. It was written in the stars. Amdy was not going to be denied.

affirmative. this is why the castle is fast becoming the required reading.

the prophesy was written in the stars and revealed by me at the castle.

the prophesy said that the great dunblane warrior would rise at Wimbledon and absolutely nothing would get in his way. not even a runaway steel locomotive.

and now another prophesy has been written in the stars. it is being revealed at the castle tomorrow.

No need to be so sensitive and attack Mastoor for frankly just stating some facts. Nole won 7 straight tournaments in a row in 2011 and yet still some people were not convinced. Funnily enough those same people now think this is a "new Murray" after only 1 slam win. Or maybe they were saying that after last year's USO win. All deserving wins, of course. However Mastoor's point is that winning majors is not that easy. Anyway if I remember correctly Nole beat Andy 3 straight times after USO (a masters, WTF and a slam - everybody conveniently forgets about AO 2013 for some strange reason). So as he says, we will see. If he keeps winning, that will be great for him. And Andy's record vs Fedals refers to slams I think, I don't see anything bad in that.

I may be wrong but in the last 3 years I think Nole has the best record when you count all 4 majors, plays them all, wins some, losses some. It is hard, it should be obvious to anybody. I find it distasteful of Lendl to proclaim somebody the best player when it is obvious he is not, the rankings are easily found.

If Andy is that good, he will prove himself and he will get more respect from Mastoor than Mastoor ever gets for Nole.

Good luck to all of them in the next 2 months.

but lendl has to believe in his student.

also lendl views all this from a different vantage point:

he has been in something like 19 slam finals so he knows the game.

he saw first hand what andy is capable of at Wimbledon.

I think he is more than just right. andy has nole on the run now.

andy won the last open. I think andy goes in this time knowing that he has what it takes.

With Del Po there is no way he should be put above Murray or even Rafa for NYC. People have been overrating him for 4 years now when in all truthfulness this past Wimbledon is the 1st time he has been relevant at a big event since the start of 2010 (unless you count bronze at London).

Well, he made the finals in IW this year. I guess you are not
counting ATP 1000s as big events.

I forgot to mention explicitly that in IW Delpotro beat Murray
and Djokovic back to back. He beat Murray in QF and Djokovic
in SF. This is when both Murray and Djokovic were on top
of their game having just played the finals in AO.

Is this directed at me? Why don't you say so? You know what would be cool? If Nole beats both Nadal and Murray back to back. Where will you be running to then?:laydownlaughing

I see you are taking this Andy thing a bit too far. I don't remember you being such a fan at the beginning of 2011, maybe later on when you left tennis.com board you became one, I might be wrong.:D

Tsonga is out of rogers cup. knee injury.

Richard Gasquet would be the luck one getting into top 8

this why the castle is required reading for most.

if you want to stay grounded in reality then you have to read the castle.

warriors constantly adapt and they constantly evolve. that is what they do best.

I am quite impressed with andy`s progress. he has had to deal with a lot of adversity. he has had plenty of obstacles thrown in his way.

I like what I like. I just cant like the whole world.

Not confirmed, but I expect Nadal to play doubles on the hard courts of Montreal.
Possibly Nadal/Monaco or Nadal/Robredo.

Historically, the Canadian Masters Tournament is famous for
unusally large number of singles players participating in Doubles.
This is because many singles players feel they need more practice
as they take a long hiatus since Wimby.

Murray has an 11-9 winning record against Roger, so it's not rare.

http://www.atpworldtour.com/Players/Head-To-Head.aspx?pId=MC10&oId=F324

tented, it happened only 3 times in last 3 years that Murray beat (should I underline it? elderly) Fed and it isn't frequent. I think he had only 1 win against Rafa in those 3 years yet people talk about new and improved Murray.

I think the New Murray dates to the beginning of 2012, when Lendl started coaching him. He hasn't even played Rafa since then. And he's beaten Federer about as much as not.

yes, ivan lendl climbed inside murrays head and rearranged andys mental furniture.

“No need to be so sensitive and attack Mastoor for frankly just stating some facts”

OK, what seems sensitive about my responses? What ‘attack’? Oh and please enlighten me to the facts that Mastoor was stating? Keeping in mind that we’re discussing only my responses to specific Mastoor posts.

I responded to the fact that he stated Andy didn’t deserve much credit for winning Wimbledon. I also responded to his post that Murray only deserves credit when he beats Fedal, which according to Mastoor is “only once every third blue moon.”

I pointed out the fact that Murray has not played Nadal in nearly 2 years. I also pointed out that in the last year or so Murray has a better record against ‘elderly’ Federer than Djokovic does. Perhaps Mastoor needs to be more ‘specific’ in his posts.

Is the rest of your post directed at me? If so, I’m not sure why. I’ve been nothing but respectful of Djokovic and his achievements. I think he’s a worthy #1. If you have a problem with how other forum members talk about Djokovic then I suggest you take it up with them specifically.

You may have a problem with Lendl’s comments but as far as I’m aware he is allowed an opinion. He is not Andy’s mouthpiece. He can say whatever he likes. You don’t have to agree with it.

“If Andy is that good, he will prove himself and he will get more respect from Mastoor than Mastoor ever gets for Nole”

Well, I hope and pray that one day Andy will gain Mastoor’s respect. I’ll keep my fingers crossed.

For the record I have always logged on and congratulated Novak and his fans when he has beaten Andy. It has been difficult but I’ve done it. I would assume that is why fans of other players are always quick to congratulate me when Andy wins. You gain respect by showing respect to others.

Murray IS very good and he's proving himself that as well. Since last Wimbledon in 2012 he's played 4 Slams and the Olympics and he's won 3 of them and made the finals of the other two. He's beaten the No. 1 player twice to win those 2 Slams. And Federer on grass to win the Olympics. No joke there.

And also, it's time for people to stop making excuses like 'Nole's draw was tougher' or 'He wasn't playing his best in the final because he was tired' etc. First of all, Nole had no reason to be tired in the final given that he's been in similar situation before where he had to play back to back long matches both in the semi and final. So he had no reason to be either tired or sluggish. And he also had no reason to not take a Major final seriously.

But more importantly, people need to realize that Murray is the better player on grass than Nole. In fact, he has the 3rd most consistent record on grass behind Federer and Hewitt in this era. He's probably the best player on grass right now.

I am ambitious when it comes to Wimbledon and Murray. I believe Andy will win a few.

And speaking of the number 7 and Murray, I was born on the 7th. It was meant to be, no? :)
