What's he doing slicing his own bread! Surely he has a minion for that kind of thing, to cut the bread, give one part to the food-tester, and one part to the bread-butterer who then gives it to a long-legged girl in a short skirt but long stockings, who brings the buttered bread to Ralph while he's gaming.

There'll be heads rolling over this one!

Well, I just found out that if you fast forward the commercials, Roger matches can easily be under an hour...Benefits of taping, watching later.

Nothing vintage about the match, but there were some positives for Roger, one being the net game. There were a couple of volleys in the first set, especially one backhand overhead, that was TMF there...

It looked like Gasquet did not have a whole lot of belief in himself at the beginning, and when he tried to step it up a bit middle of the second set, he could not take advantage of the chances he got.

Roger plays much more relaxed when he knows his opponent cannot dominate him in the rallies.

Imagine how many grandslams Rafa would have if he didn't enjoy sandwiches. :wave

OK. I don't want to see anyone disappear from posting because they suffered a paper cut (big strong men that you are). :s

FYI to the US viewers: The Djokovic/JMDP match will be on ESPN2, instead of the Tennis Channel.

So nice of ESPN to jump in the broadcast ring just when things are heating up

summarizing in good humor Nadal food-related incidents in career (in chronological order)

1. "Banana" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZLVy77i7hxw (classic)

2. "Hot Plate" http://sports.yahoo.com/tennis/blog/busted_racquet/post/nadal-burned-his-fingers-on-hot-plate-at-japanese-steakhouse?urn=ten,wp2579

3. "Bread" http://ftw.usatoday.com/2013/11/rafael-nadal-bread-sliced-injury/

p.s. I'm not going to count water bottle organization issues as food-related btw, but if anybody has any others I've forgotten about feel free to add them

and perhaps it just comes down to this for Nadal

"I have learned to enjoy suffering: Rafael Nadal" http://www.mid-day.com/sports/2013/aug/310813-sports-i-have-learned-to-enjoy-suffering-rafael-nadal.htm

the man obviously brings the same intensity to eating as he does to the court and I think everyone has to admire that :)

This is some doubles match the Bryans are in

What a victory! Even saving match point in the tiebreak. They're really something.

I feel bad for Qureshi/Rojer. They looked awful afterwards. That would be hard: having match point to keep your hopes alive at the WTF, only to lose the match, and get eliminated from progressing. Tough loss.

Both teams were facing elimination right? It was going to be tough on someone regardless.

I think the Bryans were through. But Qureshi/Rojer played great at the last. Too bad.

Correct, one team was going to be eliminated, which added to the drama.

I'm enjoying watching doubles. You get to see some beautiful lobs, and unique net play. It's a shame they don't show them more often.
