If Novak wins against Gael, he would have won all three matches and so will be #1 in his group.
If Novak loses against La Monf, his record will be 2-1. The winner of the match between Thiem and Raonic will have a record of 2-1. Novak and the winner of the other match will therefore move on (La Monf and the loser of the other match will have 1-2 record in this case). The leader of the group will be decided by the result of the H2H match between Novak and the winner of the other match. As Novak has defeated both Milos and Thiem, Novak is guaranteed to be the winner of his group.
Now, pressure will be mounting on Andy. Andy now knows that he needs to finish as the winner of his group to avoid meeting Nole in SF. Tanking is no longer a strategy for Andy. He needs to try to win everything.

I don't understand! If Andy wants to solidify and put that stamp of being the best this season, he probably needs to beat Nole; SF or F! I think the semi would be better chance for him! He's yet to play a YEC Final; much less for all the marbles as POY and #1! :nono  :dodgy: :cover
