All the best to Lopez/Lopez. Marc won this tournament in 2012 with Granollers, hope this year wins again with Feli, vamos!!!!!! :clap

What happened to doubles specialist Rafa? Didn't he qualify?. Marc would have had a better chance with him. :)

I never should argue with a fool; onlookers not be able to tell the difference - Carol :p

I've been saying for awhile that Thiem probably won't be a true elite player (#1 candidate, multi-Slam winner) but more of a second tier type like Tsonga and Berdych. Although unlike those players, he'll have peak years without Novak, Roger, and Rafa at the top of their games, so he'll have a chance to win a Slam or two.
Never saw Thiem play until yesterday. My impression was that he was simply outclassed after the fist set. I couldn't quite pinpoint them but it felt as if big holes in his technique and movement were exposed.

Poor Marc, besides the opponents have played so well his partner Feli has not helped him at all, shame :cover

Not pretty in the first set but Andy turned the screw in the second and won comfortably in straight sets. With Stan losing a match he's in a good position to win the group even if he loses a match.

Wow, Muzz has swept Cilic all over the court, if this one doesn't improve his forehand and his torpedos serves my predictions will go with the wind but anyway I'l be happy if Muzz continues playing as well though there are still more matches to see

It felt to me like the effort of winning the first set deflated him and he dropped about 80% of his intensity after that. Novak played a poor first set and didn't really have to play anywhere near his best to take the final two sets, but we could see that as soon as he broke in the first game of the second set, he was in a mood to turn the screws.

Good first set by Thiem, but it was very disappointing the way he belly-flopped after it. He's 23 years old, not 13. The commentators were calling it as if he's a kid. He's inexperienced st that level, but he's not a kid, and he showed no signs that matchplay is his forte...

I'm actually quite surprised that Murray defeated Cilic quite easily. Now, his second match against Nishikori is crucial as it might determine who faces Djokovic in the semifinals.

I just calculated this but Murray's best chance to win the group other than winning those 3 matches is: He beats Nishikori on Wednesday AND Cilic beats Wawrinka. If those scenarios happen, then it guarantees that there will be no three way tie. And if there is a two way tie, head to head matchup comes into play.

Is a week too long to find out the semi? I can do without hurting my head coming up with "what if's!" :puzzled :nono

Come on, we all do what ifs. The forum would die in a week without them.

Fast court: mad Milos has a punchers shot of making this uncomfortable for a djoker who's already fairly uncomfortable, it seems...

Stan played poorly vs Kei, he looked tired and not concerned

La Monf is out for all practical purposes with 2 losses (although theoretically he still has a chance).

Monfils should let Goffin play. Does nobody any good for him to play the third match injured.
